So sorry that your two year old was bit by a tick. Did she get a bulls eye rash on her body? I'm afraid, based on what you've shared, that she's already manifesting signs of Lyme disease. The best thing you could do for your daughter is get her to an Lyme Literate Medical Doctor (LLMD) asap. The sooner this disease is diagnosed and treated the easier it will be to heal from the disease.
Most MD's will under treat and not give the patient enough antibiotics long enough to effectively remove the lyme infection, and very possibly she may have picked up some co-infections too. A LLMD will order a Western Blot test by Igenex (gold standard for Lyme testing) and then when the doctor gets the results he/she will treat the disease (assuming she has it) accordingly.
I cannot emphasize enough to you the importance of getting your daughter to a qualified LLMD asap for testing and possibly treatment if necessary. As good as you pediatrician might be, they are not trained, nor qualified, to diagnose Lyme disease. Many MD's don't take this disease as seriously as it is and as a result this disease gets worse as time goes on and more difficult to treat. It's a horrible, horrible disease, and the sooner it's treated the better your daughter's chances are of getting over it. It's hard enough for an adult to deal with this disease, as I'm sure you've noticed by now from reading the Lyme forum, it's much more difficult for a child who suffers with it.
If you need names of LLMD's in your area, send me an email and I will be glad to send you some information where you can get referrals for a LLMD in your area or nearby.
Gary
