I am new to the site, and this is my first posting.
I have been on IV treatment near 3 months. I had been diagnosed with Lyme, Babesiosis and Rcky. Mt spotted fever. I almost died at my own hands from problems of this disease. The support and love of my family kept me here.
After firing my family dr of 15 years, I found a great Dr firm to help me. Dr P's office has Dr. P. She actually worked on my file and she thought I had lyme. I told her I had many test and no lymes found. She educated herself and tested correctly.
From there she sent me to Lyme specialist Dr G. in Bellhaven VA. For the first time I had the feeling I could recover.
Oral antibiotics untill the lab work returned and IV treatment for six months ordered. I had the imedate reaction of cure. The disease faught back and shook my thinking. Since that time, Days when I know I am cured and days when I am not so sure.
The big part of this is pain and the other is becoming active. One thing that has helped me become stronger is Adderall. While my family dr treated I was told I have ADD and given med's for this. I think this was good and helped me continue to do things iwth my children. I am taking these medications and it does help me get going. I am sure many days I would be in bed if I did not have the med's to help. Is helping me become stronger and one day I might be able ot fight this on my own.
Now for your answer,
My home nurse changes pic line cover each week, she has been doing this for 30 plus years. Home health for the last 10 years. All the questions of IV for such a long time and has she seen people recover were answered.
She has seen complete recovery in cases of my type. Six months is not too long and many people with my issues need this to recover. A friend had 30 days and relapsed a year later. But to answer your question YES people do have complete remission from this and for years after.
If you do not have an agressive dr to treat you might have to change. If you are near Salisbury Md the Dr I mentioned are knowledgeable and monitor the treatment.
I just heard of a OBGYN who changed fields and now treat tick illness after she could not find treatment in her area. I have heard Dr's question tick illness, and after a person close to them is hit with this mind set changes.
Best of luck.
