I finished taking amoxcillin 2000mg a day for 30 days, went back to my doctor took a blood test my IGM droped from pre abx was 35 to now 27...I then went to a new docter the next day he took a blood test as well, results came back  yesterday, he said no anti bodies where found which means no sign of lyme...My question is how can 2 blood tests taken one day apart give completely different anwsers? What does this mean exactly?  Its driving me crazy dont know what to believe anymore please help....

It depends on what lab they sent it to. I bet it was two different labs. The best place to test for Lyme is Igenex lab. They are more familiar with Lyme Disease and test for more Lyme bands. Also, the test is not always accurate. I'm wondering why you got tested back to back like that?

I got tested back to back because I decided to see a new docter, did'nt tell him i was getting another blood test to see what his opinion was, without him being influenced from the previous docter diagnoses......I live in europe we don't have an ignex lab here.....

From what I undertand and have experienced, you can test differently all the time.  I tested for 3 bands, then 2, then 3 and mostly different bands.  This is why the testing is so unreliable.  In addition, i thought the CD57 was more reliable but come to learn that if you have bartonella, which after 5 years just found out I do, and also tested previously negative for, the CD57 becomes unreliable.

Do you have any symptoms? Lyme Disease is a clinical diagnosis. If you have symptoms with postitive Lyme bands(not necessarily and positive test), then an LLMD will treat you.

Sounds like the tests were only the ELISA, not the Western Blot. I'd encourage you to get a Western Blot done, because the ELISA is horribly inaccurate.

And I wouldn't be getting so many tests done, especially if your insurance is paying for it. Now they have a reason to not pay for your treatment.

I live in europe  belgium, we get free medical tests and medication extra......as for the western blot test it is being done already and that test will confirm if I still have lymes or not.....I think i just had the infection not lyme diasese itself......thanks for all the replys

IgM only tests for an initial onset of an infection. IgG tests for an infection in past. IgM eventually disappear, while IgG trigger responses later. The best test to take is a PCR test that actually looks for bacterial DNA. Bartonella (another lyme-associated disease) goes in and out of the bloodstream which can show positive and negative tests depending where it is hiding. Galaxy diagnostics, a diagnostics company for Bartonella, avoids this by doing a triple draw (where they do 3 blood samples from a patient 2 days apart, which increases the chances of catching it in the bloodstream).
