Suicide COWARDLy or an EASY choice??? I think it takes guts to call it quits. Not saying I advocate it, but to call it the "easy" way out is ridiculous. No one wants to die, they just dont want to be in the situation that they are in.

I am so sorry you lost your mom, Igot sick a long time ago when My baby was a newborn, I thought and was not told I wasn't going to die. Grace of God I made it the LAST thing I'd do to my children is purposely hurt them by leaving them voluntarily nobody loves their children like their mom. but nobody wants to see someone suffer either when one can only see and feel pain what is one to do? It is a blessing when these things happen that there are not young children that is what I meant by "older child." I don't judge them I might be inclined to do so (God forgive me) had they left small ones. Your mom did not want to leave u I imagine it ate her soul up and i can think of nothing more tragic than leaving my 19 and 21 year old. they hate it that i am not well, but even in a chair i can play as big a role as they want me to to, nobody loves like a mom, I am so sorry for your loss, Life is sooooooo difficult.

I have said that I now totally understand suicide since suffering from lyme. Thank god for my family. they are truly my saving grace. To suffer endlessly from pain is one thing, but to be denied treatment, even have your disease acknowledged while at the same time suffering mentally is just torture.

I appreciate you clarifying your comment regarding the age of children…sheds a whole different light on your comment…I see what you mean. At times, communicating in black type on white computer screen doesn't carry the intent that is in our heart.

Yes, you can play a role in your children's lives…regardless of how young or old they are…because there is no one else like you, their mom!!!

Springsjean, It is really great to have the support of family...glad you have the support of yours and they are your "saving grace". Wonderful!

I know this is an old thread but I am stunned at the judgementalism by inesia. You did not walk in their shoes, you cant fully appreciate the exact circumstances that pushed them to their no return. Suicide is never an easy option, people are usually very tortured if considering it. After fighting with this 'mystery' illness and the maddening symps, losing a 20 yr career, losing ability to participate in life, feeling abandoned I can understand what takes people to the edge. I am not in the judging business, it is insensitive, ignorant and possibly immature to say the things you did about people you were not personally in a position to offer alternatives to help them. I also use to have an idealistic view (when young and wet behind the ears) and took such a stand against suicide, but now I realize I am in no position to judge anyone.
