Are nasal sprays like flonase safe?

I was prescribed this for ear pressure and pain along with rynatan. 

Would it be safe for me to take since it has a small amount of steriods in it?

My ENT  doc. says it would be ok but i'm not so sure....

No problem for Lyme with the steroid nasal sprays...the dose of steroid is usually too low to be of concern, and because it is topically active, it isn't absorbed systemically in any significant amount.

However, if you are still concerned, you can try a colloidal silver nasal spray (Peaceful Mountain makes one that I got at a local health food store), or Xlear (xylitol based nasal spray), or saline nasal rinses with a netti pot. Another thing I found helpful for sinus congestion is fenugreek tea or capsules. Nature's Way makes a Fenugreek-Thyme combination that works fairly well called FenuThyme - I got it at a local health food store.

My nose quit responding to the steroid sprays, so I had to go back to the antihistamines and also my doctor tried me on Singulair for my Asthma and it seems to also help some with my nose.
