I had signed up for college before I was diagnosed with Lyme. The main reason was to go back for my children. Its hard to tell them to go if I don't go. So, I enrolled last April and started August 23. I just took my first online History Exam and I made an 84. I am so bummed. I couldn't remember anything. It was 50 questions in 60 minutes on the American time period of 1500-1775. It was very challenging but I'm upset cause I used to be an all A student. GRRRR, This is going to be a challenging semester!

O_My_Goodness Rasputin, I know you're bummed looking back at the past, sure that's GRRR. Yet, when I read you were diagnosed with Lyme, and you still went on to college I was like, WOW, so impressed.

Perhaps it may be a little more challenging of a semester than you anticipated…you can do it! You passed that test with an 84 (you remembered more than you give yourself credit for) plus you PASSED...that's great!

More importantly you are a shining example to your children. May you be encouraged as you realize...yup, you're raising some college graduates!

Just said a prayer for you.

I hear you, Rasputin. I've been working on my MBA at a PAINFULLY slow rate. Had to drop my fall class because I have too many medical bills to pay to afford tuition as well.

I'm an A student - never had trouble being an adult student with kids and working fuill time etc. Here's the thing though - GIVE YOURSELF PERMISSION TO NOT BE PERFECT RIGHT NOW. Do what you can, when you can and find what works for you. Do not let Lyme be your crutch either. It is completely admirable that you are going back to school. An 84 by a lot of people's standards is ok (good even for some). You know you can do A work when you're healthy, right? So you have 2 options - 1. Go to school now and get some B's and C's but see yourself making forward progress. or 2. Wait to go to school until your health is better and pull all A's. What's more important - Progress or Perfection?

Don't get me wrong my 3.899999 GPA totally chaps my butt, but who's ever gonna ask what your GPA was?

Thank you both for your encouraging words. I was bummed yesterday but I'm feeling better about it today. I am trying.
On top of it being hard to remember things for school, I got a letter in the mail that I forgot to pay our utility bill? and my I sent a note to my daughters teacher that didn't make any sense. It was very confusing to her and wrote back she didnt' understand what I was asking her. ( I told her she had to take the spelling test today and asked if they was having a test Friday. I meant are they having one next Friday cause they are out Monday). My concentration and thinking is making life a little difficult right now. I hope it is just a phase.

Anyway, thank you both so much for your uplifting words!
