Hello! I have been suffering with horrible symptoms for the past two years. I was bitten by several tics in when we lived in MN. We just relocated to Texas and I am not sure if they know how to diagnose Lyme Disease down here. I had a Lyme test done two years ago when I started to feel bad and it was negative.... do you think I could still have it?? I was reading through the symptoms and over 80% of them described me. Everyday I feel like I am getting worse and worse. Which test should I ask for?

Welcome to our forum! I am also sorry to hear that you are feeling so ill, but you have found a good place to learn how to better help yourself! I'm sure that you will find us to be a caring, helpful & understanding group!

One of the first things you should do is to read the thread at the top of the forum titled "New to Lyme? ... Start Here!" , as it is packed full of information and link that the members her have put together.

This will give you a good start on becoming your own health advocate, which is important so that you understand what is going on with your treatment and your body.

Lyme Disease is supposed to be diagnosed clinically - by your symptoms - not by a blood test. Lyme and other tick-borne infections can lie dormant in a person for years, even decades before the body gets under just the right amount of stress, and that's when they will begin to 're-activate'.

As JoAnn said you will need to be seen by a Lyme-literate Medical Doc (LLMD) in order to be evaluated properly. Since you thought you were infected two years ago, it is possible that you could have a chronic infection.
