Morning everyone! Not sure if it's the weather with snow and ice yesterday or what but I just feel horrible today. Not too bad with the exhaustion but lyme rage has a hold of me today. Screaming, carrying on for no reason. I swear sometimes I'm bipolar it gets that bad. Now I realize it's another symptom of this dreaded disease. Oh wait a disease no one but me thinks I have!
I got a call from the doctor this morning. I've got to go for an MRI of my head tomorrow morning (to see why I keep getting sinus and ear infections) and an ultrasound of my thyroid (to see if it's functioning properly with the Naturethroid) and to see why my glands are swollen. Hello?? As me why!
I'm very worried about getting this diagnosed ASAP because of a coworker's wife. She is in her early 50's, was always active, sweet, kind loving person. A few years ago she started having memory problems, little stuff at first. Before long it started progressing to bigger stuff. She is now in a nursing home, no recollection of anyone or anything ALL because Lyme was diagnosed too late. I'm at the point where half the stuff I want to write, I can't figure out how to put it in words, how to get the words from my brain to my fingers or mouth.
Why is it when someone says they think they have lyme disease people, even doctors, question them and say no you don't. No one would ever think of doing that with someone suffering from a heart attack or diabetes or cancer. What makes lyme different?? I was in a local drug store/health food store on Monday picking up my husband's blood pressure pills. I was looking around at the supplements and one of the cashier's came over and we started talking. She asked what was wrong and I told her. She said there are so many people in the area dealing with lyme. She recommended Grapefruit seed extract and some liquid that I don't remember the name. Is GSE any good? Anyone here take it?
Sorry this is so long, guess I just needed to vent a little. I'm just so glad I have here to turn to right now. Thanks I am on 40 mg a day of celexa and ativan as needed. Dr. wanted me to try cymbalta but it's not covered by my insurance. Think its time for an ativan.
