Results of Spirostat test

 

I haven't posted in a long time and I usually only post when I have something which I think is of interest and provides important diagnostic information.

I recently had the Spirostat panel test which tests directly for the DNA of over 30 pathogens including Babesia and fungi. It is a relatively new test and was recommended to me by a Dr. who leads a Lyme support group and has Lyme herself. She had the test done and it revealed a few specific pathogens which were detectable by their DNA. The Spirostats lab is in Lubbock, Texas. It is not cheap, but I decided to have it done because of the number of bugs it tests for.

Anyways, I had the test done and just got the results back. The test did not pick up Borrelia, Babesia or Bartonella which I find curious and leaves me wondering about the reliability, sensitivity and specificity of the test. However, it did pick up a couple of pathogens of which I am uncertain of the implications.

They are Streptococcus Constellatus and Mobiluncus Mulieris.    

The Streptococcus Constellatus strain does seem to have some rather nasty illnessnes associated with it. The Mobiluncus Mulieris is the primary pathogen attributed to Bacterial Vaginosis. I am a male, so where it is taking up residence other than in my blood, I don't know. I have determined that it is not sexually transmissable and my wife doesn't seem to have it, at least that we know of.

Anyways, I thought I would just share my results and curious to know if anyone else has had the test done and if so, what were the results? Cheers. 

It is a blood test only, but they draw blood in 2 ways. One through a regular blood draw and the other through a finger prick to expose the blood to air. The base test for the main panel of pathogens is $500. I took the extra step and payed for the Babesia and fungi panels as well. The total was $800. I do find it strange though to not find any of the 3 B bugs. My latest CBC test still shows a low white blood cell count, so something is dragging down my immune system. I have not been on antibiotics for a year now and deal with chronic pain as my primary symptom. I'll keep going forward to find what this Lyme complex is all about. about to start Samento coupled with Banderol as it has recently been shown in vitro to break down biofilms and expose bacteria. I am interested in hearing what the Streptococcus Constellatus does and whether it has any role in all of this. My LLMD is also bringing a hyperbaric chamber into his practice as well, so may go down that path as well.

I don't think I have Bartonella at least not now. I did have Babesia which was treated with 13 month's of Mepron. When I first got sick I had tremendous brain problems and was unable to remember what people said or what I was reading. I could not process the words from the page when reading. I was on antibiotics for 2 years and have not had the brain dysfunction return.

Samento is used as a core part if the Cowden protocol and is supposedly effective against borrelia, babesia, and bartonella. It is very powerful based on patient accounts. I am sure there are many stories on here about herx's from Samento. The new research also shows that Samento combined with Banderol is effective at breaking down biofilms and killing many different types of pathogens. So that is my next plan and we'll see if it helps.

wow. 13 months of mepron!! who paid for that? was it IV? that is great news though to hear you made it through the other side and feel better for a year.

I was told by 2 lyme doctors i would be on pain meds rest of life. I think what ever I can find to build up the sheath over the nerve endings will help. and brain boosters like phosphylatyl choline and B's.

and colostrum helps. I found a powder for $65. I used to buy the milk delivered on ice

Did you go for this test because of pain?

Please keep us posted on your treatment Lymebean. I think abx is so hard to do because it takes so long and the herxing. It is good to hear news like this. Did you by any chance the burning feet thing as side effect of mepron?

I wonder if you have parasites too? the metemetrex stool test was worth it for me.
