I'm tired, confused, frustrated and still don't know where to go or what to do.

Why can't there just be a place to go to for a month or two.

Somewhere that provides the perfect treatment, feeds me, takes care of me, 

makes all the decisions AND is covered by insurance!

I know exactly how you feel....I am so tired of managing my own health and telling the Dr. what to do based on what I've read! There's no lyme literate Dr's here in Canada and very few have even heard of it! I'm tired and frustrated as well....but I hang in.

This web site has been so good for me! I've spent hours reading through postings. I don't feel so alone. There really are other's out there who understand the brain fog, the inability to function, the depression...
Maybe my imaginary treatment center should be on a beautiful island and have all the ammenities of a cruise ship!

I understand what you mean about Canada. I live in Kansas and call it the medical Dead Zone!
2 years ago after a friends husband had been terribly ill and had been taken to the ER for the third time, I asked her to relay all his symptoms. (They live out in the country) I told her it sounded like acute Lyme and to request the testing...It was! Three times in the ER!

Have you tested positive or are you having a hard time finding a doctor to test you?

I know what you mean. I saw my doctor on Friday. My ELISA came back negative so in his eyes that means no way in he double hockey sticks do I have lyme. Am trying to find a close LLMD that takes my insurance isn't an easy task. My doctor told me if I eat better and exercise and loose weight I'll feel better LOL

Just so depressing.

There are quite a few treatment centers & I would actually like to start a listing of treatment centers like we have for LLMD's, if anyone is interested.

I did check info on Hansa Center about a year ago. I drive by it sometimes when I've been running an errand or an appointment. They are very expensive and don't work with insurance. I didn't know they work with Lyme though.
In August of 2008 I flew to Calif. to see a specialist for fibromyalgia, treatment resistant depression, extreme fatigue and the 100+ other symptoms. He did the Western Blot test. The results were:
IGM: 41 +
31 IND
83-93 IND
IGG:41+
58+
He put me on Doxy 100mg 2ce a day for 3 months. Never explained about the Herx symptoms (I think that's what it's called when you feel worse for awhile, herxing) Also put me on thyroid, cortizol, HRT, and about 20 suppliments.
Like all of you, I could write 10 pages and still not cover it all! For me the hardest part is the depression, and feeling like the me that was is gone and I don't know how to get her back. Denail

Denial,

first of all, I think I had the worst depression from doxy. and second of all, depression has got to be the
worst part of this illness because it is way beyond a cloudy day, It beats you into a black hole.

After a while I loose my point of reference of what it is like to experience joy.

We are gonna herx just like chemo people go thru hell. but this drags out so much longer.

Joy. You're right about that one! The foggy brain and jumbled train of thought have made it almost impossible to even pray. I start talking to God and 10 minutes later remember that I was, after thinking about a dozen other things! Can never seem to keep a train of thought!

If I go into a store and tell myself, "3 things, 30 minutes max" I leave 4 hours later and wonder what the heck is wrong with me!!!!!

Hi again Denail,

Please don't go running to Hansa without learning about it first.  As I said to you in another post, keep it simple.

I do recommend buying Dr. Jernigan's book "Beating Lyme Disease" and then after you read that, you can make up your mind.  I believe it's important to understand Dr. J's therapies and why he does what he does.  I never went to Hansa so I only know from what people who did go told me...

I would also subscribe to his blog.  Lots of good information!

Also, what made me feel better was knowing that Dr. J. had chronic lyme himself and honestly thought he was going to die from it which is why he loves to help others.  Here is a man that was very, very sick, got himself better, decided to invent machines and grow his own botanicals to help people...  I think that says alot about this man.  He not only "gets" it but he is really brilliant as well in my opinion, hey, it was his protocol that got me well!

You live in the same town as the Hansa Center? Wow! You've got the potential to get the very best treatment in the world by a doctor who's a genus and invented over 30 natural medicines himself. He's got hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of equipment in his office and over 30 years of experience treating Lyme and chronic diseases. Right "under you nose" is a facility that could very possibly help you get well within months.

Dr. Jernigan and his associate, Dr. Jowdy, helped my wife and I both to get better from Lyme disease. The staff in the office are wonderful caring people. The equipment is state of the art and people from all over the world go there for treatment. There's people that would give anything to afford to travel to the Hansa Center. You're right there in the same town, so you don't have to pay for airfare or two weeks in a hotel during your treatment.

I encourage you to go in and talk to Dr. Jernigan and see what they can do for you. If nothing else, do as Deejavu suggested, get the book with the protocol in it and see if it helps you. Many people have been helped doing the protocol at home, but my wife and I wanted to be treated there and we have no regrets whatsoever.
