I have been there many times. You can NOT give up!! Please think about
the people you will be leaving behind. I am still hurting after a year, since my father has passed away. Are you on any anti-depressants? This will help a whole lot to get you through this hard time. The bacteria do affect the brain and this is why we get so depressed. Are you currently on treatment?

Hang in there Pachouli. I have been there also. At Christmas time I was telling my husband I wasnt going to be around to see another Christmas!! I also told him that I hated waking up in the morning because I knew I was going to feel so bad! I found a doctor and am being treated and am starting to have more good days than bad!! Please hang in there!
Like Cajungirl said, anti-depressants can help. My doctor also put me on a small dose of Abilify and I can tell you, it has helped with my mental state TREMENDOUSLY!! Before I started taking it I would have crying spells every day and was also having some very dark thoughts.
You will get through this, DONT GIVE UP!

O please don't. It does get better. I can assure you. Read some inspirational books or take up a hobby like crocheting just to take your mind off things. Or just keep talking to us. We like to listen. I used to tell myself one hour at time some days and it would work. Try some deep breathing, it can be very relaxing and soothing. Hope today's a better day for ya!!

As Springsjean said, I too have had to take things just an hour at a time some days!! You MUST hang in there!! Don't give up!!! I have been to the point of tossing in the towel many times over the last 40 yrs of being infected. Had I made the choice to quit, I would have missed having two beautiful children (now adults) and having found the the love of my life!
That doesn't include the many wonderful opportunities that having these infections has
opened up for me to help others!!! Getting through this can be quite difficult for some (like me!) at times, but it is sooo worth the effort!!
Antidepressants can actually help with the pain as well!!
Please feel free to email me should you want to!!

Patchoulinut,
Not to make light of your situation, more to shine a light:
One night I was sitting on the couch and was in a very bad way mentally and physically. I looked over at my husband and said, "That's it, I give up. I can't do this anymore." He said, simply, "Okay."
We sat there in silence for a while and then he asked, "So did that change anything?"
"No, not at all." And then we started laughing until we were crying.
Giving up just doesn't help. You can do this. Hold on, it will get better. Focus on what you want to do or what you want to see in the future and keep your eyes on that.
Herbal or pharmacological anti-depressants can be a real help. I used SAM-e to great effect.
We're cheering for you. Feel better!

Have you ever heard of an energy lamp? My husband gets down every winter because he goes out in the dark and comes home in the dark from a stressful job. I got it at Costco and it is supposed to be a great mood uplifter. Just a thought. Hope today's a good day.

The sun will shine again very soon. Even though we haven't met there's someone above who knows us both and loves us dearly. Hang in there!

Hi pachoulinut , how are you doing today? I hope things are better. I don't know if you're on an antidepressant ; if you've been on one for awhile, but you're feeling like you described, it could be that the one you've been on isn't working for you anymore. Your dr. might suggest a change. I sure hope things are better today than they were a few days ago.
