IV picc finally installed

First of all I cancelled this procedure two days ago.  My attorney advised I do it for keeping my disability case stronger (originally for the depression) so I did.

Very uncomfortable and painful.  Now, it's just fine.  Seemed like Dr. missed a few times and I recall her saying the tubing was dry.  My guess is that the tubing was difficult to weave in the arm because of dryness.

The numbing was very painful also.  I bet it was a huge needle, OMG I about lost it.

Got sick on table, sweaty, nauseated, dizzy, white faced etc..........   I then sat up and was given OJ, but had to immediately lay down again.  They got me a bed and took me back to the room where I rested a bit and then went home.

Infusion went well today though.

Glad it's over.

It's sad what we have to go through to feel better. I'm glad it's over and done too. I hope that everything is uphill now for you.

Dr. told me, though, I will be difficult to treat due to the chronic stage of Lyme I'm in.

I did infusion today, it was fine, went smoothly. Very fatigue today, slept almost all day.

You poor thing I went thru the same thing. My whole arm and shoulder just ached for a week after the
placement of the picc line.

It helps to use a heating pad on the shoulder area and and ice pack on the injections site ecspecially if
it itches. It may be wise to get something for yeast overload or watch it closely. Under my bandage every wk
it was getting worse. I had to have the line pulled and inserted in the other arm. I now take diflucan everyday
and it has helped with bloating in my body too.

Still have Picc, had it since Oct 2010

OMG, 5 months Harley!!!!?????? OMGosh!!!!! I thought the limit was three months! I pray God heals and helps you, I'm sooooooooo sorry!!! Bless your little arm!!!!

So nice that you are understanding. I tend to get weak after infusions and tired. Oh, well.

Yes, for first time (cuz I remembered) I did put ice on injection site! Gosh, they never even told me to do that.
I sing professionally and had help loading and unloading heavy equipment for yesterdays performance. I was so tired before the performance, thank God I regained my ol self and carried on. I gave a good performance.

Some of the music I do is spiritual, so my whole personality changes when I sing about God. It helps me.

I had some old boyfriends who rode bikes, my my I loved it! Little frightened on the freeway! I would YELL>>>>> NOOOOOOOO Go slow!!!! LOL LOL LOL I would hold on for soooo tight!!!!! But I love the city riding soooooo much.

So far no side effects. No diarrhea as mentioned would be. I hope I bypass the yeast infections.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU HAD THIS?

I'm chronic, sick for many months perhaps years. Been tested for MS, lupus and lyme since 1997. Diagnosed pos jan 2011, but in 2003 from my old blood work I see some pos bands (this is a long story). The neuro Dr. that took care of me tested me and never told me. I also just found out that in 1990ish he was sued for neglect-amount was 80 million dollars. Still in practice because I recently went to him. After I sent him a serious letter of how he rushed me through the office, he called me at home and referred me to a specialist. If I hadn't complained, I may not be having this treatment right now.

I will not be going, ofcourse, to this Dr. again.

I felt the same way upon my PICC being put in last week. The place that did it in our hospital is known to be "good" at it, they do it a lot etc. The numbing, like you said was awful and feeling it go in and up, not a pleasant experience. I completely broke down as they did it, and the doctor vanished after it was done. Very nice. I'm worried about getting it out, as well :(

Hopefully things are going better for you now though.

lsltosvt: How long have you had yours in? Yes, I'm a little sickened at looking at it. I think, personally, Dr. got frustrated! I was hurting and she knew it. Then she left, no word after! Nice Dr.!

I took a picture of my arm yesterday. Man, it got a few pretty bruises! Pretty colorful. I would like all these Dr. to get infused before they infuse anyone, agree! It's plain poppy-poop!

Glad to see you here, I'm newer myself. Great support here.

Isltosvt: How's the picc? Mine out on Tue perhaps, this is not helping me. It's a nasty bug!!!
Whas up with you? Did you get the line out? It didnt' hurt did it? If I knew I'd have to have this glued to my arm in order to feel the beauty of may days, I'd keep it in for as long as possible.

Tue it will be looked over by the doctorl and maybe removed. I'm chronic that's the problem.
