Hello everyone,
So, I was called this morning and got to go to Shands at UF in Gainesville today instead of a month from now.
I took it.
Let me say this: they are just like the Mayo doctors. Don't really believe in Lyme, much less chronic Lyme.
So mad and very upset. I should be used to this by now, but I'm not. Stupid doctor would only focus on my back pain and fibromyalgia than look at my test results, other symptoms, and what I've already tried. Seriously, he said I need to drink less caffeine and exercise and I'll be able to do better. Oh, and try some Beta blockers too.
I may try the Beta blockers, but I hardly drink THAT much caffeine, maybe 1-2 cans a day MAYBE. But he seriously ignored my vision problems, cognitive difficulties, inability to breathe properly, extreme fatigue and everything else. He told me that I wasn't doing well in school because I couldn't sleep well and had too much caffeine!
Okay, I've tried MANY things, but I can't friggen sleep well (either too much or too little and unrested) because I'm either in so much pain or so tired from the pain.
Either way, I'm upset and very angry with this doctor. Plus... my next appointment is in 6 MONTHS! yeah, OCTOBER!!
So... I called my MD very upset, but he wasn't there, so the kind nurse took a message and said he'll call me tomorrow. I'm going to check out these beta blockers, start the Lyme diet, and try to contact an LLMD in Florida this week.
Oh, and I don't remember if I told anyone, but the opthamalogist told me I was born with an optic pit. I know for a fact I wasn't and he totally blew me off! If I recall correctly, he said that there's nothing significant about sudden atrophy causing an optic pit and my right eye that doesn't have it trying to compensate. This has effectively cause me to go from far-sighted to near-sighted in a matter of weeks. I think that's pretty significant right?
I demanded a field test for this Friday too.
Well, any thoughts would be nice. Hope everyone knows NOT to go to Shands unless you have something concrete they can treat.
Best,
Slayer
