The only joint pain I had was in my elbows....nowhere else....no swelling, no redness just a tendonitis type pain.
This elbow pain was my first symptom and it really threw me off track (thinking I did not have Lyme) because I too was led to believe that if you didn't have swollen, painful knees then you didn't have Lyme.
So much misinformation out there! So I attributed the elbow pain to arthritis, getting older, etc. So did all the (non LLMD) doctors I saw.
It wasn't until my multitude of neuro and muscle pain symptoms reared their ugly heads that I began to suspect Lyme.
As for brain fog: In addition to the spaceyness, mine comes with a hot feeling in my head along with pressure-- like my brain is in a vice-- my ears will feel really stuffed up too. Sometimes I can feel a pulse in my head-- a throbbing sensation. Horrible!
