Found another live deer tick in the house today (seems to be a big year for ticks).  Does anyone know if there is any place/service where I could have the live tick (now in ziploc) tested to see what it carries?  What if it dies in the meantime?  I could probably find another live one soon :-) although I hope not.

I know there are places and county services where I can take the tick and they will tell my what type it is, but I already know that.

Or is this just a pipe-dream?

I would definitely get the tick tested just in case it did latch on to one of you and you didn't know. The most reliable place to have the tick tested is Igenex Labs in CA. I believe it costs about $60.00 for a Lyme disease test there.

Clongen Labs also does tick testing. Their site explains everything you have to do when you find a tick.
