Different people react differently to the abx. It took over a year on abx before I could even test positive. It depends on what else your body is trying to deal with.
Here's the problem as I see it - low doses of abx will allow these infections to not only survive, but to become abx resistant as well. So the question you probably should ask yourself is what do I want to do? Find a LLMD who will treat this as a serious infection (like it is), or do you stay with this doc who is not willing to put you on more than 200 mgs a day. Add in the questions 'what happens when you need a third month of Doxy?' & 'what about
the co-infections that usually travel with Lyme Disease?"
