Thought I was doing fine, had not had any joint (knee) pain in a few months. Then suddenly started coughing and not bringing anything up. Went to an urgent care and got flovent and albuteral and three days of prednisone. Also had wheezing and the feeling of not getting enough air. My blood oxygen was 97 which is pretty good. Then things got worse, starting grasping for air, could not walk far, could not carry my purse. Would them resort to albuteral which made me feel like I was going to come out of my skin. Developed head pressure, not a headache, and neck pressure. Also got a slight twitch in lower lip. Gave up on my ENT and went to llmd. He said, oh, it moved upstairs. He had diagnosed me with Bart a few years ago and I had been doing good. He prescribed advent, plaquenil, niacin, an anti anxiety med and spirivia. Within days almost all symptoms are gone.
Has anyone experienced anything like this?
I was also getting night sweats but not nightly.

Oops, he prescribed biaxin and advair not advent!

Actually having your breathing/coughing symptoms now...in addition, spine (c5-c6-c7) hurting, arms/hands numbing/pains, chest pains...

It's been a while! I'm so sorry that you are having these problems.

PubMed site describes pleural effusion as: a buildup of fluid between the layers of tissue that line the lungs and chest cavity.

Glad to hear that you got in to see your LLMD! Hopefully all will be well in just a few weeks.

ive been having a symptom in my chest that is a similar sensation as a stomach growling- but its by where my lung or heart is and its definitely not my stomach! im wondering if this is more likely to be the lung or heart...

i will bring this up with my llmd, however this will not be until my first appointment next month. is this something to be very concerned about??

It may be something fairly harmless, but I'm not a doctor and have not studied medicine. I would suggest that you call your LLMD (even though you haven't seen him/her yet) and explain what's going on. Let them decide if you should be seen sooner, or at what point you should be concerned, or if it can wait until your appt.

Are you running a fever, and if so, how much of one?

ive been getting very lowgrade fevers off and on since may, a couple of which were noticed at the ER and a doctor appointment. the past few days i have gotten them in the afternoon/evening and they are in the mid and upper 99s- enough that i feel it and check my temp

That actually quite common with Lyme disease, I wouldn't worry much about the fevers. Just be sure to ask your doc about it when you do seem him/her again.

Please know that this is JUST my stuff.  I can't say it in anyway relates to your experiences or situation.  You need to get real advice from your llmd.  What pointed me back to lyme (after being "cured" for two years), was heart rhythm problems (and miserable performance on stress tests).  I also had low pulmonary function tests, and pulse ox in the low 90's.  My heart issues started with that "hungry" feeling in chest (weird sensation), later, angina as well as tachycardia (very rapid heart rate) with dropping blood pressure immediately upon mild exercising (ie unloading groceries).  Meds helped my heart rhythm considerably.  But not the exercise intolerance.  The good news for me, is that having been in treatment for 8 weeks (rediagnosed with lyme, possibly coinfections?), my heart and pulmonary problems have greatly improved.  Have cut my heart meds by half.  Good luck.  hope your dr. will have some insight.

Just to add.  I also have the head and neck pressure.  Albuterol gave me a trip too- I will NEVER do that again unless I'm literally dying!

 You may have a mycoplasma infection.  I got one with my Lyme, and I had air trapping, got diagnosed with asthma (since most docs--esp. in the 1990s--don't test for mycoplasma), and began having extreme sensitivities to formaldehyde, chemicals, etc. over time.  I was on Advent, Advair, Albuterol, Flovent. Serevent, and Prednisone at various times, esp. when the formaldehyde exposure really burnt my lungs badly.  The respiratory symptoms were the first symptoms I experienced after my tick bite.
