I've been reading up on this med since I am going to start it next week with Biaxin.
Now I'm REALLY not looking forward to it!
Experiences anyone?????

Hah! I never read the side effects until I have already been taking a drug so that I don't give them to myself through the power of suggestion!
The only thing I noticed was that Flagyl seemed to really affect my mood. However, because it busts up the cyst form of the bacteria, that means that all sorts of neuro toxins are being released and that could easily do that, too.
Actually, now that I have made it up to the full dose, I am not having a problem with that, so it must have been the toxins.
It is a powerful drug -- the initial herxes as I increased my dosage were quite debilitating this time. I had hit a real lull in my treatment at the time this was introduced, so that was kind of a welcome thing.
The absolutely no alcohol ban does make me a trifle grumpy, I must say!! It is a small price to pay for a short time, I figure, though. Do remember not all alcohol is cooked off in the cooking process so beware of eating out!
PS now that I think about
it, I did have trouble with diarrhea the first week of taking it, but that settled down.
Good luck with it!

Thanks achievinggrace!
You've made me feel a lot better about
it. My LLMD said to ramp up on B12 ahead of time too.....and yes, no alcohol!
I think I've had maybe 2 drinks during the entire time I've been on ABX...so that part will be easy.
