Hi everyone, 4 months ago I ended up in the hospital with Meningitis and Bells Palsy. Week in the hospital and diagnosis of Lymes.. I did a month of IV antibiotics. A week after getting out I was bitten again and reinfected. I had two weeks of antibiotics to go so nothing was given for the reinfection. Well here I am 4 months later and I'm miserable. Chronic fatigue, bad neck pain, blurry vision, headaches almost every day and all day long. My blood pressure is very high and it never was before. I also have pains in my chest/ribs.. Drs all say the same thing my Lyme is cured! Hogwash! So Im trying to figure out what to do next. Ive been trying to change my diet and taking some natural remedies.. Guess Im wondering do I have CLD or did they just not kill it the 1st time? Thanks KT

Depends how long you've had it...from what I've seen around here and read elsewhere, only one month of IV abx and nothing else doesn't seem like much of a treatment. How familiar with the disease were your doctors? The best thing you can do is educate yourself to the point where you can be a partner in your treatment plans with your doctor.

I think everyone is different but it sounds to me that you need to get to an LLMD (lyme literate medical doctor) ASAP. You obviously are still infected and need treatment. The longer you wait the more chance the bacteria has to spread. I don't know if you are familiar with the controversy surrounding diagnosis and treatment of lyme but it is tremendous and baffling to say the least.

I would recommend reading the thread on the board "New to Lyme - Start Here." It has so much informationg and links for crucial information.

Welcome to the forum! So sorry you are having no help from your doctors.

I totally agree with Springsjean that your best next step would be to locate a Lyme Literate Doctor. It sounds as if you simply did not get thorough enough treatment.

A Lyme Literate Doctor would also be able to see if you have any other tick borne infections that have not been treated (co-infections).

You will want to find an ILADS(International Lyme And AssociatedDiseases Society) doctor. The ILADS site is a great place to get information.

You can also post a new thread with the title, "Looking for LLMD in (Your nearest big city or area you are willing to travel)". Many of us travel more than two hours to see our doctors so be sure to be open find a doctor in a broad area.

Just went to my family Dr again today and he basically told me he doesn't have a spine.. Uhhhh Umm there are two rules of thought on lyme and I try to stay in the middle.. I need to get help fast I am getting sicker quickly. I need to find someone who will treat me... Thanks for the info I emailed the above people...

I think I found a doc right down the road hes an osteopath and alleopath, he treated a woman we know from church..I will post the outcome as it is revealed.
