Hey there. So of course I start by saying this torturous disease (and treatment for it!) is different for everyone. But since you've asked I'll tell you my course of action.
I had been treated 2 and a half years ago with the "standard" treatment of 4 weeks amox. Weird symptoms- you know the list (Not lyme according to my non-llmd army) persisted.
FINALLY linked it all back and retested positive. GOOD LLMD. I opted for the high dose, long term abx route (Amox., Biaxin, Ceftin, and Rifampin) in various combos and doses. I really felt I needed IV because of so much neuro. Turns out I didn't. QUALITY, and plenty, Probiotics. I also took a B complex.
Because of the severity of my heart involvement (episodes of tachycardia with drop in BP) I took lopressor for over two years. (cardiologist wanted to cauterize heart nerves- I didn't). I am now off of all cardio meds w no problems.
I detox consistently (see the info. on that in the posts). Sauna and massage were also quite helpful. I cut out most processed food and tried to limit sugar, otherwise didn't restrict my diet too much, just tried to eat "healthy". I also realized the importance of rest, and prayer/mindfulness- I feel that this contributed as much as anything else.
My plan now is to continue eating mainly whole foods, getting back into an exercise routine, and supporting my immune system as much as possible. I've been consulting with a nutrition expert for this kind of info. Hope this helps. But please know that there are many ways to go about healing. This was one. GOOD LUCK.
