Mold and Lyme???

Can anybody out there explain why I am reading a lot of stuff lately on the correlation to mold and Lymes? I can't get a really good answer as to why they are related. Am I plateauing for about a year now b/c I may have a mold issue? When I got allergy shots awhile back, mold was my top allergy. Does this have anything to do with that? Thanks all.

from what ive found, Lyme can make you sensitive to everything. if theres something your body doesn't like it will let you know x10. figure out whats holding you back from full recovery and fix it. for me, i cant do alcohol anymore. and also removed gluten from my diet which seems to be helping. i dont know anything specifically about mold... but if Lyme has caused you to become hyper sensitive i say listen to your body and avoid the bad stuff.

Hey Mystery: Thanks for your post. I did gluten free and it made no difference. My protocol for the past 6 months has made no difference either. Arghhhhh. Maybe an island on the beach may help? :)

There do seem to be a lot of people with TBI's that have a strong reaction to mold. I was one of them. Our bodies are being so drained with trying to treat for these infections that, as Mystery said - your body will let you know times 10!!

There are fairly inexpensive testing kits for mold that can be purchased at places such as Home Depot and Lowes stores that can be used to test your home. If you can actually see the mold though, you may have a serious issue from what I understand.

My understanding is that there's a certain genotype that makes some people unable to detox...which is why we don't seem to get better when we kill the Lyme (which produces toxins) and why mold exposure leads to chronic illness. Something about the toxins getting reabsorbed.

I just started cholestyramine to bind to the toxins so I can get them out...I live in a moldy house it's been like a huge issue for me...

Borderlyme...thank you. Now I understand. Have you read about Dr. Shoemaker? He does the cholestyramine.

Yes I actually saw him a few years back...not sure why the treatment didn't work then but I think it was just too complicated for my mother (who was taking care of me at the time because I was so young) to understand. Misinformation has caused a lot of treatment failures for me.

How do you know if your house is moldy? Just buy a test at Home Depot kinda thing? I am filling out all the paperwork for Shoemaker but feel like I don't know why I am doing it. I guess we get desperate at times. Thanks.
