yazzer, Dr. Jernigan is pretty busy, so I'm really not too comfortable writing to him and asking for references regarding this topic. I think doing an internet search will provide you with information regarding LD in Colostrum.
I think the chances of getting LD from taking Colostrum is pretty slim, but not impossible. I don't agree with you regarding your comments about
doctors who sell products. Perhaps that is true of some of them, but I don't think that would be true of Dr. Jernigan. He doesn't sell this product, nor does he sell many supplements at his clinic, he mostly sells his Jernigan brand remedies which have helped countless people with lyme disease, and other chronic diseases as well.
I understand your point of view, but just because a doctor sells a product doesn't mean it's not a good thing for us to take. Dr. Mercola sells numerous products, but many of his products are things that we take because they help us, whether it be his brand or another brand.
Anyway, that's besides the point. I wasn't suggesting anyone not take Colostrum, I just felt it was information that people need to be aware and come to their own conclusions. I'm actually thinking of buying this and trying it out in spite of what Dr. Jernigan says. I'm still researching this and considering which brand I might purchase. I'm actually thinking of using goat colostrum as it's closest to human milk than cows.
Here's some information regarding the possibility of Bb being found urine and colostrum of infected cattle:
~~Many cattle do not display signs of Lyme disease; those that do may have lameness, painful or swollen joints, fever, laminitis, or weight loss. A skin rash may be present on the udder of infected cows. Bb has been found to exist in urine and colostrum of infected cattle; therefore, the possibility of transmission between cows should be considered. The Lyme bacterium has also been found in blood, milk, synovial fluid, and spontaneously aborted fetal tissue. Bb can survive in frozen milk, but is killed during pasteurization.~~

Most websites use the same information word for word. I think colostrum is an excellent product for strengthening the immune system. Many people have reported good results from it, although most people don't claim to be healed from it. Yeah, I know about
the congressman that did get healed from injecting Bb on the udder of a cow and drinking the first milk, but other than him, I don't think this is a "cure all" for LD.
Not trying to discourage anyone from taking it. Like I said, it's just information I thought needed to be put out there so people can be informed before deciding whether or not they want to take it.
