I removed a tick from my thigh december 1st after noticing when i was getting in the shower. I have no clue how long it was there but there wasnt a bubble. I had to dig it out with tweezers. could anyone please tell me if these pics I put on photobucket look like lyme..Thanks so much.

there are 28 pics I took over a couple days on the second page the tic was in my leg before I removed him

It is very possible, if you have any symptoms at all DON'T WAIT get to your doctor and demand a course of antibiotics.

Get to a doc ASAP - it's been over a month now since you removed it? Do be sure to get a professional opinion and treatment. Not everyone expresses the "bulls eye rash," so even if you don't have a blatant rash, you could still have Lyme.

I'm with Alaskah - a bull's eye rash is not the deciding factor in whether or not you have Lyme. What I see in those pictures is a red flag. You were bit by a tick, which means it's possible that you've contracted Lyme disease.

It might be worth seeing a doctor for a "just in case" dose of antibiotics - I'm pretty sure this is, or was standard procedure. Left untreated, Lyme disease can be very tricky, and can become a long-term illness. Early detection is KEY! Of course it's up to you whether you want to take antibiotics without knowing for sure if you've been exposed to Lyme, but just keep the option in mind.

Definitely keep an eye out for any symptoms at all - even if you don't think they could be related to Lyme - make a note of any symptoms you experience and please seek out an LLMD immediately if you suspect Lyme. If you need help finding an LLMD (that's Lyme-literate medical doctor), we can offer you plenty of resources!

Thank you everyone..I have not had any symptoms that I know of except ringing in my ears the last few days that is driving me nuts..
My mother use to say when your ears rang someone was talking about you..lol well they better stop because it is annoying.have had an aching left ankle but that could be the weight I have put on over the holiday..blaaaaaaaaaaa :(

I would like to know if there are any LLMD in my state of VT 05777 just to be safe.

Ringing in the ears was one of my first symptoms of Lyme infection, please get to your primary care doctor now and ask for a course of antibiotics. You do not want to wait any longer and let this illness get worse, the longer you are infected the harder, and more expensive it is to be treated.

The scarey thing with lyme is that sometimes symptoms don't appear until much later and months or years after the bite. I would sugggest that you right down when you got the bite and any symptoms that come and go so you remember in the future.

The sooner you get antibiotics the easier it is for them to work before the bacteria get into more tissue in your body.

I agree that you should see a Lyme literate physician as soon as possible. While I am not a medical professional, that looks like a classic bulls-eye that in itself means infection with Lyme. In a way, you are lucky, because many people do not get a rash that is so indicative and do not realize there is a problem. But the fact that it has now been over 4 weeks means that it is critical that you get to an LLMD asap. In addition, there is a high likelihood that the tick could also pass on other diseases. I don't want to scare you, but the sooner you can be evaluated and treated, the better. Be sure to take the photos with you (a CD should work).

Where are you located? I have a list of LLMDs in the Vermont area that I can send you, but it would be helpful to know where you are located. There are not many close by, so you may find it necessary to travel a bit.

Some LLMDs may take a month or two to get an appointment - if that is the case for you, you may be able to go to your regular physician to start antibiotics immediately rather than waiting to get into your LLMD. If they can get you in soon however, then I recommend the LLMD first. Good luck getting the help you need!
