Valencia,
Welcome.
PIC LINE...do not mess with this and CALL DR immediately.
Many people get infected. CLOTS are serious.
It would be best if you went right back to the radiologist that installed
it so they can take it out carefully or they will know what medication
to first take.
Infected picc lines is very common. I ended up with a 103 fever and in the emergency rool. this is deadly.
and any blood clot is never to be kept from your doctor.
my vote is call immediately!!! Please.

I agree with Bucci! Please, you must call your doctor today! Do you realize that if that blood clot breaks loose, it can travel to your heart and cause a heart attack? Once past the heart, it then could end up in your lungs? That's when it's called a Pulmonary Embolism. These are incredibly dangerous as well.
Three years ago, my hubby almost died from blood clots and pulmonary embolisms. The docs all agreed that he shouldn't have survived.
Your body may not be able to handle a PICC line. It's certainly not worth the risk to your life!

I had a picc line and never had pain.. Don't mess around an infection could go straight to your heart which would be much worse then the pain! It should not hurt coming out unless you are infected.

PS do you not have nursing care? Mine came out weekly and checked things out. Also are you flushing your line before and after meds? Taking a blood thinner?

I agree with everyone else.
Call your visiting nurse or your Dr. Either should be able to help you.

Tell your doctor! You can have serious complications with a PICC line! It is not worth risking it!

Valencia. hopefuly you have gone back to doctor by now.
When I had my picc line put in I asked for something to calme em down .
they can give you something so you won't be jumping out of your skin.
Did they take an XRAY of your chest immediately after inserting the picc line?
you can see how far down into your chest this goes and it is very precise procedure.
