mad   I was diagnosed with lyme disease on jan /06 /12

treated with doxycycline for 3 weeks .

after all that two weeks after i stop medication red circle rash apper in center of

my chest . What is that ? I am still infected . or this is new tick bite?

I never see any tick on me i check almost every day.

i sprayed my house twice last month with ortho .

please help..............

Ummm. I would say that 3 weeks was not long enough, and you probably did not get rid of the Lyme. It's not a reason to completely freak out, because as long as you get back on antibiotics you shouldn't have horrible symptoms and you should be able to get rid of it. But DO get back on antibiotics. Even if you have to pay to see an LLMD for a couple months (or as long as they decide to treat you).

How long after you were bit were you diagnosed, do you think? If it was a couple weeks, then somewhere between 6 weeks to 2 months of antibiotics SHOULD do it (but if you still have symptoms or still get the rash, keep on treating). If it was longer, you will need antibiotics for longer

I agree. It looks like the disease has again surfaced once you stopped the antibiotics. How were you diagnosed? What symptoms did you have? Definitely get back on antibiotics and don't stop until all symptoms have subsided for a good month.

I GET SYMPTOMS LIKE FLU , HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE AND HEADACHE IN LAST WEEK OF OCTOBER.
AND WAS DIAGNOSED ON JAN 6 THAT WAS TWO MONTHS OF UNDIAGNOSED TIME.
BUT AFTER TAKING 3 WEEKS OF MEDICINE I WAS FEELING 90 % CURED . I WANT TO CONTINUE
MEDICINE BUT MY DOCTOR REFUSED HE SAY I AM ALL GOOD NOW.
I EVEN ASK FOR SOME BLOOD TESTS TO BE DONE BUT DOCTOR SAYS NO NEED HE KNOWS I AM
CURED .
BUT I AM NOT GOING BACK TO HIM. YESTERDAY I WENT TO INFECTIOUS DISEASE HOSPITAL
AND THEY ORDER SOME LYME , WESTERN BLOT ,CULTURE TESTS
I AM GETTING THESE TESTS DONE TOMMOROW MORNING..

I had a similar experience. I was bit by a tick and got the bulls eye rash--considered lucky that I saw it--and was treated with 21 days of doxy. While I didn't get the rash back, I did get symptoms of Lyme back. Fast forward 8 months and after 2 more short courses of doxy from my family doc. I finally saw an LLMD last Tuesday and am on very high doses of antibiotics as well as Mepron for babesiosis. I've found that even in my cut and dry case, that regular docs don't give a high enough dose of antibiotics for a long enough time. If your doc is open minded and listens to you, I'd fight for longer courses of doxy. I went from mild Lyme to moderate now. And it's all because I didn't get the proper doses for the length of time needed. Good luck and be your own advocate!

ps. Don't be surprised if your tests are not positive. My blood work was sent to Igenix which is the most reliable testing done. Our medical guidelines are too narrow and ineffective. Infectious disease docs will probably tell you you're fine as well. It's incredibly important to find a lyme literate doctor especially as you are just in the early stages. I was there, too. Even the moderate stage I'm in now is miserable. I recommend the documentary "Under Our Skin" (on hulu.com for free) and the book "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub.
