Hi AFMOM!
Welcome to our little spot! I'm so sorry that you even have a need to be here, but I'm sure glad you found us!!
The first thing you need to know is that steroids like prednisone are a no-no for people with Lyme or any other tick-borne infections, as it lowers the immune system and allows the Lyme bacteria to have free access to your entire body allowing it to spread to other areas that may not be infected yet.
I know very little about
Sarcoidosis, but I do know that Lyme and other tick-borne infections cause
a lot of inflammation.
In order for members to share their LLMD info with you, you will need to enable your email option in your profile, as we don't share that info in posts since this is an
open forum where anyone can read the posts and Lyme Literate Medical Doctors are under attack and are being persecuted for their practices of using long-term abx- what is generally needed to combat these very complex infections.
If you haven't already, it would be beneficial for you to start with reading through the thread at the top of the forum titled,
"New to Lyme?...Start here!!", as it is packed full of relevant information, symptom lists and informative links that have been put together by our members here! Most of those who have read through it have said that it was very helpful!!
We also have a pretty good search function on this forum to help you narrow down your search for information from past posts. We must be our own health advocates now and the best thing to arm yourself with is knowledge about
our infections and the different ways to treat them!
Another couple of options for you to use to get the name and contact info of a LLMD in your area are below:
For information on finding a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor(LLMD) in your area, please email our long time member, Dan's Mother at:

www.turnthecorner.org/ if you want to learn a little bit more about
Lyme Disease.
You can also go to The Lyme Disease Association and search for LLMD's 3 times in a month. You have to register first. Here is the link:
www.lymediseaseassociation.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=277&Itemid=74 You will want to find an ILADS (International Lyme And Associated Diseases Society) doctor. The ILADS site is another great place to read to get you started on your Lyme journey.
