Hair loss questions

So my hair started to fall out in June about the time that my floaters kicked in and I started to get sicker. I then got pregnant, lost the baby and ended up with more hair loss. My GP told me that the hair loss was stress related (but I didn't believe that). Then he said it was due to my pregnancy, and when 3 months passed and it didn't get better and my stress levels were down I figured that it was more then hormonal. I have been on progesterone for a month now and my thyroid is being worked on (I know this can cause the hair loss), but I've also read that Lyme can cause hair loss. After starting abx treatment, my hair loss got better, my scalp stopped itching, etc. but now I'm almost a month into abx treatment and my hair is falling out again and my scalp is itching. My scalp isn't red or irritated, it actually looks perfect. My floaters have gotten worse too.

Has anyone else found their hair falling out after treatment starts and if there anything I can do? Is there anything I should do to help soothe the scalp? I have been on all natural shampoos and conditioners with none of the bad stuff and my diet is an anti candida diet. My hair is still growing but coming in thinner and falling out more. I've cut it shorter and shorter and shorter and used olive oil and coconut oil from time to time. Anyone have any ideas? I don't think I have an auto immune condition and my hair dresser has said that she doesn't think that this is heredity hair loss since it's all over and not just in certain areas. I know this is stupid but my 3 year old asked me why I took off my hair. And it wasn't after cutting it, it was after a bad shed. This all started only in June and has been going on since then. Advice?

i havelost hair when thyroid is low and the first time, may have also been right after i was bit by a spider on face at night with what i believe was another lyme infected beast (the spider)

also, women and men, if they produce more of the male hormone Dihydrotestosterone can have male pattern baldness ..i cannot rememebr what to do to test and to treat, but you can probaby google this under women losing hair due to the Dihydrotestoserone

based upon itchy scalp as a herx to what appears to be bug die off from abx and hair loss, you are likely right though as its bug related..maybe they die off is blocking hair follicles..scalp masage with some pore opening stuff, hot water, i do not know what else mnit help-infrared

My thyroid has given me problems for 15+ years when I was first diagnosed with FM when I was a teenager. I have been treated for some time with synthroid. After 5 docs tested me for thyroid over the past 5 months or so (Along with lupus, sojourners, allergies, iron and vitamin D), everything came back normal. But they only tested tsh and t4 (which came back high normal) and I was taking t4 (synthroid). Then in January a new doc tested all of the thyroid hormones and it came back that I was very low in t3 and very high in reverse t3 but normal in tsh and high normal in t4. This would indicate that the t4 I was taking was getting into my body, being converted to t3 but not being utilized in my body (hence low t3). So now I'm on compounded t3. I just didn't understand how my hair loss got better for a few weeks and now it's bad again. Nothing has changed in my treatment over the past 3 weeks. And the scalp itching is frustrating (feels like it's itchy and dry and irritated - but scalp looks completely normal and healthy).

i will need to look into biotin. That sounds like an idea. Maybe it will just help support along the way.

The dihydrotesterone was normal so that's not my issue though good thought. Maybe I'll try the infrared. I have a place up the street I can go hang out in for a small fee.

Thanks! It was my 3rd loss. The easiest by far as it was only at 10 weeks versus late 2nd and mid 3rd trimester in previous losses. Thyroid has been under treatment with endocryn docs for over 15 years. I'm just hoping that this hair loss won't be an ongoing issue. I was always called lion girl growin up as I have lots of curly hair. I have donated my hair multiple times to locks of love for kids with cancer so I've always had lots of it. Now I need some hair back!!! And my hair has changed color too. It's gone from a medium brown to a very dark brown and then back to a medium brown and dark brown. It doesn't seem to be affiliated with sun and I've had multiple people tell me that my hair is cute and that they like my hair darker (I haven't added any chemicals to it but for highlights once 20 years ago). Strange. The dark hair comments were about a month after it started falling out so maybe it was the lighter hair fell out leaving me looking darker. All strange.
