Hey everyone, hold on!!
As Yazzer said, the high temps -either summer temps or hot showers/baths will and can create a herx all by themselves!!! Unless you have other symptoms of Adrenal insufficiency(some of which are the same symptoms as Lyme), then you should assume that you have just gone through a die-off, from the symptoms that I just read that you all are experiencing.
When I was first starting to detox, I would get soooo ill!! Those baths not only aggravated every symptom I had, but gave me three day migraines as well!!
Lyme can and does mess with the body's ability to regulate the body temperature. I just spent the last 10 years not being able to tolerate temps below 72 or above 80 degrees, and no hot baths/showers. With treatment, I can -as of this last year - now tolerate temps outside that range pretty well. I had to lower my pathogen load, and get enough of those toxins from the die-offs out of me before my body could even regulate it's own temperature!
Please do not set out to do
more detoxing until you can get through the herxing from simply getting overheated and/or taking hot showers/baths - this will only lead you to have those increased symptoms again or worse. Remember, when the body is herxing more than a little bit, it's not healing! This is why we encourage all member to use the detox baths using Epsom salts and peroxide - they are gentle and easy to do and are effective for the purposes that we are needing. We also caution everyone to take it slow when starting them, because a detox bath can cause it's own herx simply because the body is overloaded with these toxins and just can't get rid of them fast enough.
Peeper-
One of the symptoms of Lyme
is anxiety! A good portion of us here have to use something to help with the anxiety that can come with these infections, as it can be totally overwhelming at times. I started out on Xanax, although I now use an herbal tincture to control my anxiety, as I couldn't stop the anxiety attacks or live with them. Please don't hesitate to talk with your LLMD about
the need for something to help with your anxiety - you don't have to live with it!
