Lyme treatment and ACNE!

I have developed worse acne then I had when I was a teenager.. I am too old for it to be normal.. So does anyone else have this problem? Is it a symptom of lyme or is it the toxins leaving my body?? God bless, Kevin

Hi Kev,
I have had Acne for years. But since I am sick since I was 22, I can't really tell whether this came with Lyme or whether I have had Acne all the time and it simply remained. But it's very possible that it has to do with remainings of killed bugs that can't be cleaned totally.

Since I am taking ABX, I have not had any Acne symptoms anymore. This would speak against above mentioned opinion, since I am definitely experiencing bacteria die-off.

Hi Kevin,

My skin has been different with each antibiotic I have taken. Between the toxins and the change in hormonal balance the antibiotic cause, it is bound to affect your skin.

My skin has been breaking out more since eating a lot of coconut products and the abx. Not sure which one, probably coconut.

My acne has moved about and changed depending on just what's going on with my body at that time. My doc told me that what ever part of your body is struggling - whether it be from trying to deal with toxins, or is just having some issues at that time - there will be a corresponding area that can break out with acne.

An example - I was breaking out quite a bit around both sides of my mouth just about a month ago. My doc told me that was from intestines struggling and then suddenly the acne backed way off and my intestines are doing a bit better!!

Of course, I am using natural treatments, so I don't have much experience with abx.

Maybe no one knows but what I am wondering, is the acne from the treatment or is it a symptom? I was also treated for babesios so it could relate to that also.

My acne broke out much more after I got lyme. I am in the process of trying to figure out. I think it is a hormonal imbalance of some sort, but probably one precipitated by Lyme
