Rifampin and Birthcontrol?

I am going to call my gyno tomorrow and ask about the interactions but I wanted to hear from those who have experience with it. I am taking Jolessa and it stops my periods completely because they make me really sick so I'm really really concerned about the interactions. I have read that it only lasts for 2 weeks and then after that it adjusts and it's okay. Is that true? I don't know if I have Lyme or if my biotoxins are from mold but my LLMD thinks that most likely I have Lyme or a co-infection based on all my tests and symptoms so far, it's Bartonella possibly so he chose this antibiotic for me. I also just found out I have staph from my nasal cultures. I get my final blood work back in a week or two. Any advice? I suppose I'll be on this stuff long term...

I was on Rifampin initially. In my case, my doctor was dealing with the co-infections first and my treatment is proscribed by multiple allergies to antibiotics.

In any case, your doctor is no doubt taking many things into consideration in designing the treatment program that is best for your individual situation. No one should question your doctor's good judgement.

As for your question about drug interactions... have you called your pharmacist? They will have the most thorough and accurate information on this.

it does seem to be considered a mild cyst buster and is usually prescribed with another abx
