I have been seeing my LLMD since December - have been making slow but steady gains. I have talked with several others who have also seen a Naturopath with good results. Is it a conflict to see both a LLMD and Naturopath at the same time? Are most Naturopaths receptive to antibiotic use? Any advice would be helpful

I think if it will be a conflict depends on your doctors. It's your choice to see whatever doctor you want though. Just make sure you keep all of your herbs, supplements and meds written down because interactions can be a big concern if you are consulting with multiple doctors.

Also it depends what you want the ND to do. Are you looking for supportive care or do you want him/her to take over Lyme treatment?

I see a LLMD that does antibiotic treatment and also alternatives. He referred me to an ND who helps with supportive therapies (supplements, vitamins, herbs etc.) and primary or urgent symptoms when they arise.

The ND is good for certain things, but doesn't specialize in or treat Lyme alone. This particular one is not an official "LLND." He refers Lyme related questions back to the other doctor.

The LLMD is not available around the clock, so if I have an urgent situation arise, I'm in trouble! So I kind of need both of them for separate reasons. One to help with Lyme, and one to help with supportive care while I try to treat it. It works out, but only because the two aren't crossing territories lol.

I'm a LLNP (Naturopathic Practitioner) and I specialize in Lyme, so yes there are some of us out there.
And most good LLND or LLNP's are very receptive to abx use. Some of my clients are on abx and I work with them on that.


In my personal opinion (since I also had lyme), abx alone will not rid the body of lyme. There is no "healing" or "cure" to be find in abx use alone.
Lyme and most serious illness has an issue of over-all wellness. Meaning, you need to clean the terrain of a person. How can one heal if they eat bad. are toxic etc.....

My advice would be to see both LLMD and a Naturopath :-)

I've had those same questions in my head!! I couldn't handle trying to figure out what to do with researching all on my own, so I hired a LLNP (peacesoul). She has a whole program written out for me on which herbs and supplements to use along with my antibiodics prescribed by my LLMD (who offers NO advice whatsoever other than a script for abx). I haven't started the regimin prescribed by peacesoul yet, (I will be ASAP) but it sounds very promising and I am very excited to be working with her. I need help with my diet and regimin and she has offered me more advice and time in the one conversation I had with her than my LLMD has offered since I started seeing him last month.

I think the two can work well together and my goal eventually is to go as holistic as possible. I also don't believe you can heal with JUST abx. I think a combination sounds good to me as of now and possibly just holistic in the future..we'll see!! :-)

For me, it was important to work with someone who has actually gone through some of the things I've gone through. I'll keep everyone updated on my progress !!

Thank you for your advice. My LLMD is good but does not offer much advice on diet, supplements, etc. I felt as though I was improving but now feel like I am at a stand still, especially with my fatigue.

I was referred to a Naturopath in my area who treats Lyme so am going to call ASAP for an appt
