Welcome to the forum! I was sick for a while before the lyme really exploded in me (or probably "re-exploded"), and the symptoms I experienced then sound a lot like yours. I'd always had some anxiety, but panic attacks came out of the blue!
Keep a few things in mind - testing isn't very reliable. Lucky you, you got probably the least reliable test their is! A LLMD will use a western blot from a specialty lab which is sensitive and specific, though even then, they're not all that accurate. The blood test measures your immune system's response to the infection, and in general, scarily enough, the sicker you are, the LESS likely you are to test positive! Crazy, isn't it?
Also, lyme itself and also co-infections can contribute significantly to things like anxiety. I know firsthand how frustrating it is to go to the ER with something serious going on and they shrug and mock me and tell me it's anxiety - OF COURSE we have anxiety ON TOP of what we're going through! It's so frustrating, but having people here who can relate and commiserate really helps.
I'm glad to hear you're still up and functioning, going to the gym, etc. If it is lyme, etc., starting from a more active place might be very beneficial as far as recovering. Best of luck - don't be a stranger!
