It's great to know that Lyme is penetrating the mass media, but it's also disconcerting to see that the stories are of a redundant composition. Yes, any print exposure about Lyme is a good thing as it informs the public and creates awareness, but I would like to see more stories taking a controversial approach, discussing it's implications on the political level. In Canada very little is known about this disease and how utterly debilitating the symptoms can become. There are literally wide swaths of areas indicated as being endemic for Lyme, and yet next to no physicians across the entirety of the landmass known as Canada will even admit the disease exists. It is shameful.
