More noticeable veins?

Don't know if this is related to lyme or co-infections, but in my shoulders, arms, and chest I have more noticeable blue veins over the past month. Never had that before where you can see them so clearly. Anyone experience this? Not painful - just doesn't look right. Brought it up to my primary doc and he didn't seem concerned (just checked my bp which was fine). Haven't found much info on it searching online which I guess is a good thing that it is likely insignificant.

Thanks for the response. Just looks like the skin is thinner and I've never had this before. One more mystery in my health situation.

28. Skin findings showing increased blood vessels of any size
29. Skin findings showing increased tissue formation that is increased over the flatness of surface skin.
30. Skin showing blood vessels that are too large or too many for the location of the blood vessels, e.g., surface thigh and calf skin with very thick surface blood vessels. Or legs, upper arms or shoulders have explosions of many fine blood vessels.


Maybe I do have Bartonella after all.

Yes! I feel like I should be an X-Men character. Mine hurt too. Feels like they are " constricting." Very strange!

My veins in my arms are doing the same thing. The left arm is more noticeable and the veins on the back side of my arm hurt. One thing I've noticed is that if I raise my arm above my heart, they stop bulging and hurting. Should I be worried about this? I had a full cardiac work up with holster monitor and treadmill stress test and he said I have absolutely no issues with my heart, but the vein thing is starting to freak me out.

The good news is ,that it is reversable

I had bulging veins on my left ankle,my feet have always caused the most problems,especially my left one.

Recently the veins have become noticeably less visable as the pain and inflammation have improved........patience ladies this too will get better.

Weird. I just noticed today, while driving back from our LLMD appointment, that the veins in my forearm are more visible than before. They are not larger, or more bulging, but it's like I can now see them through my skin, whereas before, my skin covered them. And they look very blue. Funny to find this post tonight.

I noticed some years ago that when I was hurting the most the veins on my hands and fingers and sometimes my fore arms would stand out very blue. Bulging above my skin. It usually coincided with excessive pressure pain that I used to say felt like sand running through my veins.

Do any of you bleed under the skin excessively when you run into something, or when you get a little cut?

I bumped my arm, not even hard, into the corner of my buffet again and we watched the 'bruise' grow from a pencil tip mark to near black/purple spread to the size bigger than a silver dollar in less than a minute. There's a bad lump in the middle of it.
Only very seldom do I take a 1/4 aspirin because I'm prone to clots, not enough to warrant this. A few years after I first got infected I showed rabbits and if one of them scratched me on the arm I'd have to wrap it because I'd bleed like a stuck pig for about an hour.

I've told a Dr. here and there but they just shrug.

Mississippi Jane - what does it mean the vein 'rolls'? I've seen this mentioned before and wondered what happens.


Mine are more prominent - especially on the backs of my hands....and when I put sunscreen on...it was like they were magnified...gross...made me self-conscious of my hands in public.

They move and are squishy .likely from low bp ..and infections in the endothelial lining...i had to get a port ...nurse was hitting then missing ...also rest of me got smaller making hand viens and foot veins more noticable
