Lyme disease depletes your body of magnesium, which causes high blood pressure. Some antibiotics cause your body to retain more magnesium, which is probably why your blood pressure drops when on antibiotics. Taking a magnesium supplement should also lower your blood pressure, however it will likely cause your Lyme symptoms to increase as it feeds the bacteria also. Unfortunately, magnesium is just as important to your body as it is to the Lyme bacteria, so you may still feel justified in taking it. I've been taking it myself for a few days now, and I have seen a drop in my blood pressure to much more near normal. Magnesium supplements also help with the anxiety and agoraphobia that can come with Lyme, which is the main reason I'm taking it. So far it has helped me there as well.
