My first prescription for Mepron is $745, and that's with insurance. Without it would be $1,100. It better be made with real gold. Holy Moly!

Has anyone taken Mepron for Babesia? Are there any other less expensive alternatives?

I have taken it. I herx pretty badly on it but I don't get much improvement from it. Malarone is an alternative as are cryptolepis, artemisinin, A-Bab (Byron White), Alinia, Clindamycin/Quinine etc. All of them have some risks.

Mepron should be taken with fat like ice cream or peanut butter to be most effective. It should also be taken with zithromax to avoid resistance. You also want to watch your liver enzymes while on it.

$1000 is actually not as bad as it gets. At a local big chain pharmacy here, one month at 2 tsp per day was over $2600. It's outrageous. Mepron is supposed to be the strongest and most effective though.

I was fortunate with my insurance that it covered all but $110.

I took it with a spoon of nutella, as advised by another member on this forum. That made up for the taste of the mepron

I had a horrible herx from it and went off after a month

The cost of mepron is highway robbery!

I have managed to put babesia into remission using A-babs, along with the burner herbs cryptolepsis and red root.

I did have mepron, but could not afford to keep taking it. I didn't notice any improvement, but I only had 6 weeks worth and that is usually not enough.

Hi there, I have very bad air hunger these days. What is A-babs??? Also how fast did you see improvement with cryptolepsis and red root? I heard some good things about it watching Dr. Horowitz's video on Babs and Lyme. Anybody else taking herbs for their babs? I gotta get this under control. My doctor told me to use magnesium powder which I mix with water and it helps for a little while. Thanks in advance! I'm determined to kick Babs and Lyme to the curb!

We paid over $1100/month for 6 months when my daughter took Mepron 4 years ago. One would think that the price would have gone down by now.

We paid over $3000 out-of-pocket on the day of our first appointment with the LLMD, lab testing, and prescription drugs. Ouch!!!

There are other options for Babesia too. I couldn't take Mepron for issues other than cost. I pulse artemisinin now and I herx just as hard on that.
