Lymes and breaking up

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that. Lyme is such a tough thing for the patients themselves as well as everyone around them. I know my family members also tend to distance themselves from me. Some of them are just upset and scared. They don't know how to help and that worries them. Is there any chance that when things settle down a bit, you can reconcile with her?

Sometimes when it rains, it pours, Swashpro, and I know it isn't fair or easy. I lost a lot of people right along with getting sick with lyme - it's a tough thing to go through, my heart goes out to you. There's a book called "The Alchemy of Illness" by Kat Duff that really helped put this sort of experience into perspective - sometimes there's a healthy purging of a lot of things in our lives when we get sick with some illness, and when we come out the other side we've gained a lot from it. For what it's worth, of the people I lost to this illness, the worthwhile ones have come back around, and I kind of appreciate the time we spent apart, like we both needed it, and as for the ones that haven't, I'm glad, in the end. Sorry to hear your news, perhaps you'll get back together given a bit of time. I know how difficult it is dealing with Lyme on its own, so really upsetting when you have other big things to deal with on top of it, and depressing when those who are closest to you aren't able to offer their support any longer. I hope you are able to focus on yourself and getting better and are making some progress In that regard.
