Very positive western blot--post treatment ... Help me understand

I just rcvd my western blot results and they are so positive, they are worthy of reporting to the health department. They are CDC-standards positive and we all know how positive you have to be for the CDC to admit it!

This blood was drawn about 5 mo post 7 mo of abx.

I'm really bummed bc I'm feeling pretty well. I do not want more abx!

Is it that my immune system is just doing a better job now???

Ideas?

The only symptoms I still have seem bartonella related....I feel pretty good otherwise!

How utterly confusing.  I'm having a brain lapse right now but I do remember reading about why it is not accurate to keep retesting.  I will do my best to research and post what I find. 

My LLMD does not believe in retesting and it makes sense because at what stage of treatment do the antibiotics become Igg from Igm.  In addition, we know that many of us with chronic lyme do not test positive at all yet when we receive treatment, we can light up the bands. 

It is confusing but if you ask me it is a good sign that your body is producing antibodies.

I've heard that also. That once you have a positive test, it makes no sense to keep re-testing. I do know people who test negative will re-test after an antibiotic challenge though to try to get a positive test if they ever need it for insurance purposes.

My LLMD uses the CD57 to gauge progress along with symptoms. I'm glad you're feeling better. Did you do a bartonella combo yet?

I was really against ALL medications in the beginning but after I started getting worse, I realized that I would much rather take abx, than live like that or continue to get worse. I would like to do herbs one day instead, but I don't think I will ever be comfortable going completely off all treatment. The chances of me becoming re-infected pretty much on a yearly basis are extremely high and I feel like the long-term side effects of Lyme that is slowly growing and getting out of control are more serious than the long term effects of most antibiotics. I do draw the line though on a few. Particularly Flagyl.

I wanted to let you know that my lyme tests were very much positive again too...both igm and igg (ignenex but not CDC). Anyhow, I am taking this herbal tinture called ABART by Byron White. I think it is working very well! When I first started, my doctor had my do a bartonella challenge and I had to do pretty high number of drops (25 drops). I herxed very bad and was pretty sick for about a week. I have since cut back to 10 drops a day and I feel that the drops have made a good difference in my energy levels and my symptoms (mostly neuro sensory type stuff).

Anyhow, if you are feeling good but want to stay on top of the stuff, maybe you could see about getting some of this for maintenance purposes...

I'm curious...did you get tested by igenex or a regular lab?
