It could be Lyme, but it could also be other ailments as well. My Lyme started in my right eye months ago. I didn't have any other symptoms that I can remember in the beginning.
At first it looked like psoriasis, then red and puffy, my eye started to droop with palsy. I had a lot of pain and pressure around and in my eye and blurred vision. My eye was itchy and irritated. As it progressed, I started to get insomnia, felt extremely tired, became sensitive to light, and the pain and pressure got worse.
After 6 months, I became hypoglycemic out of nowhere and suffered from vertigo and dizzy spells. A week later I woke up in the middle of the night with full blown palsy. My right arm and right leg were shaking uncontrollably and my right arm went numb.
I went to the hospital and they found nothing in their testing. Luckily, I live in an area where Lyme is an epidemic (Rhinebeck, NY) and the doctor gave me a week's worth of Doxy just to see. Sure enough, I responded in 3 days.
I followed up with an opthamologist and he said my eyes looked perfect, 20/20 vision and it was probably neurological.
Lyme is difficult to diagnose. Mine never showed up on a blood test, it was more of a clinical diagnosis. When the antibiotics were up, I started treating it with herbs and now homeopathic medicine. I'm almost back to normal, but neuro lyme takes a long time and can be quite debilitating. I described it as feeling like you've been bashed in the side of the head with a baseball bat.
Have you gotten a Lyme test? Better to catch it early on because it can progress over time.
