Thank you all for taking so much time to post about this! It seems like my flare-ups are not easy to predict and are very infrequent, which makes my doctor and I believe that Lyme is mostly gone. I just got another WB test done, my second only to the first one I had done in May 2011, which tested one band present abnormal on Lyme Ab IgG by WB, and that was P41. Also, on my Lyme Ab IgM by WB, IgM P23 tested present abnormal.
I'm going to post a forum about the subject of genetic susceptibility to mold and how that is affecting other people such as myself. There is a genetic test to see if you have been exposed to mold and how bad it can affect you as an individual based on your genetics. Back in the winter of last year, my doc discovered that I was exposed to mold somewhere, which I discovered to be my kitchen, mainly, where the cabinets were rotting out from backside against the wall. She believes that mold is actually my major problem, not Lyme. She said that if my immune system is dysfunctional because of mold exposure, it will be hard to completely rid myself of the Lyme or any other infection. Unfortunately, I can't leave my house right now, our lease is not up and the other roommates cannot afford to leave. In Feb, my husband and I will move out into a mold-free apartment, and this is when I expect to get a lot better, faster.
springsjean, I want to thank you for the article, it was really helpful, and I want to try some of those teas for bartonella or babs. I still don't know if I have those co-infections. I feel for you, going undiagnosed for so long, I'm so sorry that had to happen to you. The only reason I knew to take the WB test was because of my good friend who also has Lyme. I found the two ticks attached to my neck. I had worked at First Landing State Park in Va Beach and had most likely brought them back with me, and found them on my neck the next morning. Sadly, they fired me shortly after because of "being late due to sickness".
WWJD20, my diet is mostly like yours -- I avoid all dairy and gluten, and even rice can be too much to digest. I eat a lot of kale, spinach, carrot, beets, onion, garlic, good oils, nuts and seeds. I like to use nut and seed butters because they can make a veggie collaboration very tasty. I use a lot of herbs and spices when I can too, but nothing acidic. I miss fruit, a lot. It's hard for me to always say no to the one part of nature that can be so sweet and delicious :/.
Traveler, it is such a bummer, it makes me so sad to have to give up fresh fruit for the most part. I wish it weren't so! Thanks for talking about Candida too, I have to remember that.
Summer3, I never thought to drink kefir or eat something fermented, that seems like it would really help with digestion. I'll have to try that. I love Kombucha and I eat saurekraut every day by the spoonful, along with probiotics because I'm finishing three different antibiotics for the month.
Razzle, I knew nothing about SBBO, how could I test for this? I'll mention this to my LLMD.
