How much florinef are you taking? Florinef itself, should not really cause a herx because it isn't directly killing Lyme or co-infections. You don't want to overdo it with Florinef because it's a steroid. It should only be taken in physiological doses when you have Lyme.
Are you working with a LLMD? This seems like a highly unusual way to go about
treating bartonella to me.
It's possible that the combination of salt and too much Florinef is causing your flushing, high BP and swollen ankles. Some of that happened to me and I was on the lowest possible dose.
Florinef, cortef and added sea salt can all be good as supplemental treatment (usually for low bp, adrenal fatigue etc.) but these things are generally not considered to be direct treatment for Lyme and co-infections.
Are you taking anything to specifically address Lyme or any co-infections you have? Herbs or abx? I tend to lean toward this being a side effect of the florinef/added salt as opposed to a herx unless you are taking something else that has the potential to kill off the bacteria.
I'm personally not a fan of the salt part of the salt/c protocol. I think it's risky and not adequately supported by science. However, we are all experimenting to some degree so I hope that you do find something that works for you.
I do agree with you about
the liver. I also have liver enzyme issues transiently and unpredictably. I believe that the infections and herxes can both cause the elevated enzymes. It's important to monitor your liver frequently and make sure the enzymes don't get dangerously high. Many of the abx and some herbs have the potential to cause serious liver consequences especially for those with known liver issues.
