Hi my name is Ellen and I have been dx with Lyme recently. Western Blot positive in blood. Spinal tap negative Since May 2012 I was experiencing many symptoms. After MS was ruled out I finally got a positive Lyme result. I had 5 MRI's,EEG.Spinal tap.muscle tests on my legs. eye exam.allergy tests,all inflammatory tests from Rheumatologist,orthopedic and internist. Had so many classic symptoms and some neurological.(Drop foot) Never saw tic or rash. My skin on my hands hurt and has skin peeling on thumb. Have a thumb nail that is growing weird by nail bed. I got the picc line put in and for 17 days infused ceftriaxone 2gm/20ml. I had to stop due to headache like horrid pain. So I missed 11 days of treatment. Although I feel a little better so many symptoms are still there like food does not taste right, FATIGUE, very sensitive to smells and noise, and nausea.
I need to find a LLMD in Nassau County, NY. Can anyone help?

I would highly encourage you to read through the "New to Lyme? Start here!" if you haven't already, as it's packed full of important information, symptom lists (as Lyme rarely travels alone), informative links and more.

In the second post in that thread, you will see that the bottom half of it is about detoxing. Please do read through this carefully, as we all need to be helping our bodies to detox. As the bacteria die off (both naturally and from abx like treatments), they produce toxins, which drive our symptoms.

By dry skin brushing, taking the Epsom Salt soaks, eating as healthy as we can and drinking at least 64 ounces of water daily (you can add lemon juice to the water if you aren't experiencing muscle cramps/twitches/spasms), you will go a long way towards helping your body to heal, and lessen the severity of the symptoms.

Hey Ellen. I know of that group in Port and they will treat you short-term as most all infectious disease specialists will. I didn't go to them but know a few people that did. They are ok for people who have very recently contracted Lyme but since you have had it for 6 months I would recommend you listen to Traveler and email her for some LLMD's not too far away. I hate to be negative but I really think you may be wasting your time. Just my two cents.
