treating for chronic lyme since July with abx.. rash related ?

  I keep thinking I read somewhere.. that while treating for Lyme a rash could develop,, but I can not remember why or what I am to do.. wondering if anyone has had this happen.. treating with doxy, nystatin, zenpep enzymes, probiotics, acidophilius, msm, vit d, vit c, chelated magnesium,    sometimes I switch to my other abx cefuroxime when tummy gets to upset with doxy.. but one or the other one week at least at a time.   Back on doxy now.  ...

What type of rash is it? Is it an itchy hive-like rash? If so, it may be an allergy and you shouldn't take any chances with that. There is also another type of rare but dangerous rash that is associated with Steven Johnson's Syndrome. So I would contact your doctor and explain the rash to make sure that it's not one of those things.

If you are on doxy, it could be a sun-sensitivity rash. I had a terrible blistering rash from any amount of sun while I was on doxy. I had that for months even with sunscreen on. I actually had to layer on thick face makeup on all exposed skin. Then it suddenly stopped happening and I didn't have to wear sunscreen at all.

I have also gotten rashes from herxing. I don't get a ton of them, but I get some non-itchy breakouts on my neck area.

Not sure what kind of rash, it does itch and is spreading from left wrist to right wrist moving up right arm. it is not really blistered looking, just red slightly raised redness,, some of it looks to be drying up and skin is flaky..

Know my internal med doctor will only want to send me to derma doc.. more money I don't have.

Ok looked up image of steven johnson sydrome..does not look like that at all .. thank God~!

I'd suggest taking pictures of the rash just for future reference. I've gotten a few different kinds of rashes throughout my lyme treatment - some last just a few hours, some are itchy but invisible - most have gone away by themselves. Obviously there's the possibility of allergy, though I'd think that's usually easier to spot. Rashes can also be a symptom of lyme/a herxheimer, unfortunately making it all the more confusing! If you're treating with antibiotics, it's also possible to get a fungal skin infection, which a dermatologist can usually spot and treat right away.
