Hi I was recently tested for a few viruses and tested positive for HHV6, EBBV, and CMV I am not really sure what this means and my LLMD feels that I am already overloaded with prescription meds and I agree so I am treating the viruses naturally... My question is what should I treat them with that works? I have been taking olive leaf extract, IGG, Green viberance, Crypto-plus, L-drain, Rifampin, IV Rocefin, Biaxin, 1000 mg of vit c and detoxing in some way or another at least every other day. I have been doing all of this for years and I just don't know what to do :(. I came down with bronchitis that turned into a sinus infection and an ear infection that ruptured my ear drum and it is still lingering. I have had 2 sinus surgeries recently and I don't want to have to do that again to get rid of this infection. Any advise is welcomed. Happy holidays to all! :-)

Do you believe that your sinuses are responding to the viruses or to just allergens in the air? I know for me it's the allergens, not the viruses, so I take 1 tablespoon of local honey every day and it's done wonders, although it did take several months before I really noticed much help.

There are a whole bunch of differing opinions on which herbs to use for which virus. You might want to do some reading on Stephan Buhner's site about what herbs to use for antivirals since the info on his site is always with Lyme and it's co-infections in mind: buhnerhealinglyme.com/category/co-infections/viral/

I am really not sure why my sinuses do what they do :) I do eat local honey every day though and I have tried natural and prescription allergy meds with no avail. The whole bronchitis episode sent me right back into all of the Lyme symptoms I have worked so hard to get rid of... I am really frustrated and don't know what to do... I have looked into buhner and some others I just can't afford them and my LLMD and what they want me to try. I am also taking my 3 yr old to my LLMD now and so it is costing me 400-600 a month just in dr visits. I need something cheap :)

more C, and add grapefruid seed extract. (I use a alot of this) use a air filter at home, and on bad days sudafed PE. (AM ONLY) and at night tylenol pm. but dont use them if you dont need to.

Have you tried using Oregano Oil? I have used that many times to clear up bronchitis that abx wasn't tackling very well and I was being threatened with a hospital stay again. I've used it for many things actually. I,even treated myselfwith it for a brown recluse bite! LOL! It's one of those strong natural meds, it's anti-viral, anti-fungal, antibacterial.

Thank you all for the responses! I will up my dose of C how much though? I forgot to mention I also take ganoderma mushroom spores that really helped me at first but now I depend on them but they don't improve my symptoms. Anyone have experience with them? I love GSE but I can not take it right now because it has an interaction with Biaxin (I still brush my teeth with it though :)) I will for sure try oregano oil too! How much do you take? I love this forum everyone is always so helpful!

Uhmmmm, I ran out a bit ago and haven't gotten around to replacing it. I still have the Lymie brain when it comes to memory sometimes and it's here again! eyes UGH! One thing I can assure you is that it wasn't an expensive brand!! LOL!! I was completely broke when I turned to it the first time, so I know it was something fairly inexpensive. LOL! turn I believe it was "Nature's Way Oil of Oregano" though.

My doctor has me taking 3000 mg of Vit C daily.

Sinus issues along with bronchitis/asthma type symptoms was one of my most bothersome symptoms.  Time has greatly reduced these symptoms.  I coughed and wheezed 24/7 and had 3 sinus infections.  My ENT prescribed Astepro nasal spray (not an antihistamine) which helped alleviate the nasal discharge.  I certainly do empathize with your situation.

I tested positive for EBV and CMV last November and think I have really been feeling the effects of EBV the past 2 weeks. I'm not sure what it means either but I have added Cats Claw and ordered Banderol to supplement the homeopathic treatments I get from my MD. I was getting Shingles which have stopped so thinking this is just another layer?
