His Hand
Life is a race
And sometimes it changes pace,
As I moved from place to place
I learned to be strong in His grace.
Those of us with a rare disease
Find ourselves searching for answers,
I searched high and I searched low,
Only for the doctors to tell me
They don’t know.
I raced against time; Ignorant to Lyme.
Difficult to diagnose, debilitated I was
I could not walk, sunshine or rain
I could barely talk; I know…the pain.
Another day has gone, I felt all alone,
I knew from the start
This would be a stepping stone,
Another year has gone
It’s normal to shed some tears,
For me
It was the innocent deer.
Sometimes it was hard to tell night from day
While on this journey, I learned to pray,
I did not understand, but, I needed to cope
I exercised my faith, He gave me hope.
I realized it was not my plan
I needed His guidance and His Hand
