I've had on and off tinnitus since we moved into this home in 2008. Even now when I am otherwise feeling quite normal. When I was ill I was quite sensitive to wireless emissions and would have palpitations when it was on in the house. That's why the wireless is now off and wireless phones are gone. I would also have palpitations is I went into a mall with available wifi or into a museum. Our daughter is still sensitive to these places and will ticc and become fatigued, where outdoors she can cycle/walk for miles, put her in a mall and she fades quickly and starts ticcing.
I gave in yesterday and had an EMF home inspection done.
They found everything was super - the wifi is off and only used to download, then off again. I got rid of the cordless phones. We are not too near cell towers, and the neighbours' wifi is not too strong. The smartmeter isn't even really emitting much in the way of RF or causing dirty electricity in the in-home wiring. I
There is an issue with the dimmer switches which we have to change out (they and CFL bulbs emit huge amounts of dirty electricity when turned on). I've switched all bulbs back to incandescent.
The one thing they did find with a gauss meter is that there is an increased magnetic field running through the circuit that crosses the wall at the head of my bed, and which extends out to the middle of the bed. Nothing was picked up on Radio frequency or dirty electricity. This circuit continues into my husbands room and across the head of his bed as well.
There are two circuits in my/my daughter's bedroom, one of which I turn off at night. This turns off all the outlets in both rooms, but apparently doesn't turn off the second circuit that is producing the magnetic field. This second circuit energizes my husband's bedroom and he watches TV 1/2 the night so I can't turn it off.
The inspector said that the wiring problem causing the magnetic field can easily be remedied so this is not a big problem and I will have it fixed. The only other sources of magnetic fields in our house are running motors (fridge, furnace, computer). The fields don't extent too far, about
3 feet, but I have been inadvertently sleeping in one, even with the electricty off in my room. This problem doesn't effect our daughter's room, fortunately.
When ever I spend too much time on the computer (and apparently within the motor's magnetic field) my tinnitus gets worse. Just something to think about
