Hi everyone. This disease has made me an amateur microscopist. Nobody else would be interested in the things I see... but maybe people here would.. and it really helps me to have a place to talk about this and not babble incessantly to my friends and love ones.

Thanks for posting the photos. I always find these to be interesting. Someday, after you are well, you could put together an interesting photo album for your coffee table!

Its ridiculous that some ignorant doc's actually question the existence of cystic forms.

Thank you, Don! I think only those who understand would find it interesting.. most people just worry Im infectious ;)

I find looking at my blood absolutely fascinating now that I know more about what Im looking at. In the beginning Lyme wasnt on my radar. I was seeing Mycoplasma Pneumonia, I went to a Rhematologist who didnt care at all about my microscopy, but he ran tests and caught the Mycoplasma and Lyme.

Great pics!! Thanks for sharing as they are quite interesting to those of us that infected with the same darned things!!

I only wish I had a microscope - and could understand how to use one (lol!) - when I was at my worst!

I love my scope, my doctor is not amused by it tho. I told him I saw cystic lyme and even though we have a lyme dx he still rolled his eyes at me and told me I needed to stop looking at the scope.

Doctors are afraid of us learning too much. Most docs will tell people they need to quit reading online as well! The doc that we were seeing for my FIL who had end stage Alzheimers, rolled her eyes when I turned to the internet to get the info that no one else would give us. I flat told her that I couldn't get the info anywhere else!

Keep on learning all you can about these diseases!! Not only is it interesting to some, but who knows who you might help later on because you have learned all of this!

Great job, Pathogen! What magnification must you have and how expensive is a microscope w/ that magnification?

ANd I want to add: How come it is so difficult to get reliable lab results if they can be seen so clearly w/ the scope??

Traveler, I do feel like I have this information for a reason, havent figured out what Im supposed to do with all this knowledge yet.. but I know that it is definitely part of the rest of my story.

I also bought the camera attachment for my DSLR for 89.99
I use the second highest maginification lens as the highest is oil immersion and that is hard for me to focus and it isnt darkfield really anymore so I lose details at that magnification.

I had no problem getting reliable tests.. the problem was getting them to test me in the first place.


I have some great pics of the saprophytic oomycytes I found in my blood. I was really perplexed by them and had narrowed it down to being a secondary zoospore of some oomycyte... but now I have stool test confirmation that they found pathogenic levels in my stool. Im 99% positive. I think that this is a missing piece in many folk's lyme story. These pathogenic psuedofungi.

If spirochetes (amongst other stuff) can be seen so easily thru such an affordable (except for me) microscope, then why aren't our Dr's offices using these? Why so much rigamarole in getting other tests if our bacteria can be seen so clearly thru this? I'm sorry, been so sick I'm out of the loop just trying to make it thru the work day and get to bed on time to do it again....

So, here is my take on that.

I went to a live blood analyst first and she told me I had all kinds of crazy things after looking at my blood for 5 minutes. The skill of the practitioner is huge. I didnt find these spirochetes the first time I looked or even every time I look. It takes me over an hour of looking at the slide to take in the whole slide... when someone glances under a scope they cant possibly diagnose you.

Also, there are so many things like my oomycyte that youd have to be a serious microbiologist to narrow down in a few minutes of time. It took me weeks to narrow it down to being an oomycyte and then I found out there are 500 members of that group! These very subtle differences in them is how you identify them and so expecting a doctor to know medicine and microbiology at such a detailed level seems unrealistic.

However, I do think that the beauty of this technology is that it would give them a starting place to see the blood and say, hey something isnt right here and maybe I could test for xyz...

Here is saprolegnia just to give you an idea what it looks like and how its empty body might look like a filarial worm or a worm larva...Sandflies/gnats and mosquitos love me. So, the live blood analyst who said I had worms may have led me on a goose chase. Ive never caught a worm in my blood with reproductive organs but many things that looked like worms...Which is why my pathologist friend and the doctor dismissed me. I think what I was seeing were the stalks from the different fungi I have..this video shows how the filaments look worm like, especially if they were detached and floating free.

I just got a stool test back (we were looking for worms) that indicates high levels of saphrophytic fungi which confirms that this very well may be the secondary zoospore of the oomycyte Lagenidium Giganteum. I believe I picked this up in st John, USVI when the sand flys and mosquitos ate me alive. Funnily enough, the locals were cutting edge and they all told me I had B deficiencies and should take more b before my next trip so I didnt get eaten up. Now we know I have both MTHFR defects!

That's amazing, Pathogen!! Although, like +Lyme, the 'scope is a bit too pricey for me as well! LOL! But I'm sure glad to know that it's possible to get a dark field microscope and see this stuff for oneself!

My thinking is similar to yours about the why's the doc's can't do this - even general lab tech's can't figure this stuff out! That's why we often see mis-read test results - they don't know what they are looking at!

As for what you should do with this info, maybe you should start your own lab? LOL! Or go to work for one of the Lyme testing labs! You definitely have more experience than most in seeing these bacteria!! :-)

Seriously, I'm sure that when the right opportunity to share this info, or to put it into some kind of practice, you'll know! I wondered what I'd do with all the info I learned while trying to find a treatment that would work for me, and look at me now! LOL!! Now they can't get rid of me here! turn

Its still hard to let go of the thought that this is a hookworm like Ancylostoma Duodenale or Necator Americanus.. but Im sick of paying for stool tests and the pseudofungi is lab verified and I can see how it might look like this.. its always puzzled me why Ive never seen a live worm on my scope . I can also never catch one that has any discernible internal organs..

My darkfield was my birthday present to myself. Best present Ive ever gotten..

Although those first few weeks when I was seeing stuff in my blood with no idea what the heck was going on were terrifying.

Pathogen, HOW did you find a blood analyst? Don't suppose this is someone our insurance companies would allow us to see?
Strange you mentioned your fungi. Since starting activated charcoal for the mycotoxins I have seen things in my you know what. I really thought I saw a live worm of some sort, it was moving. No, I did not 'study' it well.  (ugh) I will be sure to ask Dr about this this week.  But I also see tiny stringy things that don't appear to be solid, like a worm.  Do you think this could have anything to do w/ the mycotoxins being bound and eliminated?

I never saw any type of worm looking thing until I did a series of high volume enemas. Then, I coulda SWORN there were worms. The doc says I was just washing out old tissue.. Ive been on different parasite cleanses for almost a year straight at this point so I feel like I have to let this worm thing go.. or I have to decide to treat myself with ivermectin. I really dont want to treat myself.. and I have a fantastic doctor right now that would not be amused.. plus we know ivermectin and albenza do stuff to lyme and right now, my CD 57 is great, Im fighting the lyme.. I hate to force it to get all loco crazy on me by going after it. Its all a catch 22

Im grateful for that prompting but I would never go to another one. The things she told me were incorrect, she did not catch the lyme.. she did not catch the mycoplasma pneumonia..

which should not have been hard for her to identify..

it also cost 155 for the first visit and 100 for the second. I wish I woulda just bought the scope and not wasted my time or money. BUT.. also, the scope can make you crazy.. you have to be able to step away from it.. or be able to deal with no knowing what the heck is going on in there.

My question about you not being able to find a 'live' worm, are you able to look at your slide and identify what you are looking at before they die due to being exposed to the air? I know when I do fecals on my goats (looking for worms in their poo), I have to be kind of quick in order to catch them moving.

I know what you mean about all of those links and rabbit holes! They have been a real hindrance to my sharing of all the info that I have gathered the last 13 years of researching these infections as well! I have yet to figure out how to put it all together! Maybe once my brain heals just a bit more I can figure it all out?

I just would think if the bloodcells were alive and moving around still, wouldnt the worms? Notice tho, that they are often around pockets of air.. So, I see your point.. but why no internal organs? The morgellon's folks say these are microfilarial worms caused by the same kind of mechanism as the Lagenidium Giganteum.. we are spraying these nematodes on things for biocontrol

Cryptostrongylus pulmoni is the one the morgellon's community seems to have keyed in on.. Ive found one blue fiber but just thought it was an artifact

Pathogenkiller, are you saying you have Morgellon's? That the blue fiber was yours?  I did not realize that this was seemingly tied to Lyme.  I once thought I might have it because of the sores all over my legs and I thought it looked like 'furrows' in my feet (don't know what they are), but I never found anything resembling fibers.

don't mean to be gross, but since starting on activated charcoal I have been eliminating tiny things that are white and look a little like fibers, however, they are not solid and come apart easily.  I did think I saw a worm moving once and freaked and decided better tell my LLMD about it, later this week.

Nope, i dont think I have morgellons.. but it seems like the morgellons folks seem to get more into the id of all this stuff. I found a blue fiber in my blood once.. but I still say that was just a fluke. Ive done many slides and have no morgellon's like issues.

I dont even know what the answer on the worms are.. I feel like I just have to let go of my obsession with it and keep an eye on them in my system.. if I see more of them Ill evaluate. Right now Im just going to go with them being the stalks of a saprophytic fungi like this:
