Questions are always welcome!!!
As I often say, information is power!!! And one way to get information -especially when you are confused at the info - is to ask plenty of questions!! So ask away!
Your doc is likely taking that position on your test result and treating you for tick-borne infections to cover his own rear. No one wants to loose their license and pay huge amounts of money!
Since you have bands that are positive that are specific to Lyme disease (meaning that no other bacteria will produce a positive result on this test) then there's very, very little doubt that you have Lyme. Combined with your symptoms, it leaves no doubt.
Candida does have a lot of similar symptoms to Lyme, only Candida can't explain all the symptoms a person with Lyme is likely to have. Many doctors would rather believe that we have 5 or 6 different conditions that have suddenly struck us rather than take a chance that it's really Lyme and they may have to treat someone. Considering what they face if they do try to treat Lyme, it's hard to blame them for wanting to diagnose it as any thing else!
That's not to say that you don't have Candida - many of us have had to deal with that at least once! It's just that Candida won't explain all the symptoms and definitely wouldn't explain the positives and the 'indeterminates' on your test!
If you are certain that you saw the Bartonella rash, then you also have Bartonella, as nothing else makes a rash like that either -whether or not you have proof! The fact that it disappeared is even more reason to suspect Bartonella, to be honest.
For future reference, if you see any kind of a rash, take a picture of it!! Be sure to put something that's easily recognizable next to it in the picture - like a pencil, a quarter (as it has a decent size) or something similar. That way the doc can see how big it is in relation to the object.
