This symptom is really ruining my day. I usually am doing fine then I get a feeling like a head rush/feeling faint/lightheaded. It usually makes me nauseous at the same time. My head will often times feel funny after like a strange pressure in the back of my neck. My anxiety the kicks in and I feel very freaked out. I think I have always felt this symptom but now it is worse. It usually happens once a day regardless of what I am doing. I started abx last week and I had a bad herx that seems to be easing up little by little. Is this the meds, the lyme die-off, or just the lyme? Anyone else experiencing this? Need some reassurance before I go insane...

I have constant dizziness and have for months on end. It never goes away. But I am not yet on abx or herxing...this is just the Lyme messin' with me.

It's very common with lyme and/or co-infections. I have it and it's always worse during a herx or flare. I have it really bad today because I started Cefdinir on Saturday. It should eventually lessen and then subside with good treatment.

I am also taking cefdinir. Is it the drug or just the die-off?

I'm taking that med and have that too. I think I have a stomach bug and it is bad today. I feel for ya! It sucks.

If you are having lightheadedness and anxiety I would check adrenal function if I were you.
Esp. if nausea and/or fatigue is involved.

The lightheadedness can be from low blood pressure caused by a lack of aldosterone (an adrenal hormone).
It regulates salt use in the body and therefore it is required for proper hydration and blood pressure.

Avoiding stress and adding some good salt (sea salt or himalayan) to your diet could help ease symptoms.

I used to get lightheaded all the time, passed out a few times. After diagnosis with adrenal insufficiency and the proper meds, that went away.

The pressure/head rush/feeling faint/lightheaded started with me about 5 years ago, it's what i hate most of all the problems I have from Lyme and i continue to hope one day it'll be gone and my head will feel normal again.

Thanks for the insight. I did do a salivary adrenal test. My cortisol levels are off the mark but not too much. There a little too low at noon and a little too high at night. Maybe the herx has caused my cortisol to take a little more of a dive, which is why I feel like crap the same time everyday (late morning). That could be part of the puzzle.

Hey Jitzoo,

Having you cortisol levels just a little off the mark can cause a lot of serious symptoms. The stress you body is going thru is taxing your adrenals. You may want to get some good herbs in your system to help level this out before it gets bad. I literally went into adrenal crisis... Very bad place.. and my started by just my cortisol levels being a little off.

My doctor ended up putting me on meds, of which I wanted to be off of. So I did a lot of studying and research, and within 2 months, I was completely off my meds after just going through adrenal crisis.

The herbs I use are Licorice Root (Glycyrrhiza glabra - do not get the one that has "DGL" in parenthesis), Aswaganda, Maca, Siberian ginseng, Ginger root, Gingko , and ADR by Pure encapsulations.

Licorice - helps to naturally fortify cortisol levels ( take when levels are low, so noon time for you)

Aswaganda and Maca- normalizes cortisol levels, whether they are high or low, it is an adaptogen

Siberian ginseng - or eleuthero - it has a normalizing effect on adrenals

Ginger root - another adaptogen to modulate cortisol levels

Gingko - an antioxident that helps protect the adrenals during times of stress

Lastly, ADR by Pure Encapsulations. This is a mix of a number of different herbs in one that really strengthens the adrenals.

I live by this protocol, and have suggested it to many others where it has benefitted them as well. My daughter followed it for some times. Our adrenals are in perfect condition now.
