Why would they? It goes against their stance on Chronic Lyme!

Something else you can find out is that where ever the low blood flow is to the brain, will absolutely correspond with your symptoms at that time.

I had a SPECT scan done - although I can't remember how I convinced them to do one!- and I was amazed (& a bit freaked out) when I got the paper copy of the results for myself and found out that I had a 24% reduction in the blood flow to one part of my brain and a 12 % reduction in another part. The "doctors" never bothered to tell me the results!

Another interesting thing with blood flow and Lyme is that lower blood flow to the brain can cause more blood to flow to the eyes and it's this increased blood flow to the eyes that causes us Lymies to be very sensitive to light.

Thanks Mike for the posting. I have read a couple of other articles they have written. It is amazing that this site, being the "US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health" is ignored or overlooked. My guess is the former. As Trav said "Why would they?"

Yea, just really learning all of this stuff, but the more that I dig, the uglier
it becomes. I still can't even be 100% sure that I have lyme, even with the
dx, but this is going to interest me for some time regardless of my outcome.

Trav, here's the excerpt from the article. I'm sure you've read it as it's one of the more informative ones out there. A must read for anyone interested in Lyme which is all of us.

"A second impairment to clear thinking that Lymies experience is the restriction of proper circulation within the blood vessels inside the brain. Using an instrument called the Single Photon Emission Computer Tomography scanner (SPECT scans), we are able to visualize the blood flow throughout the human brain in 3-D detail. What was seen in the brains of chronic neurological Lyme patients was an abnormal "swiss-cheese" pattern of blood flow. The cortical, or thinking region of the brain, was being deprived of good circulation; the occipital (eyesight) regions had an increase flow. This could help explain why most Lyme patients complain of poor concentration and overly sensitive eyes". (91)

Don't they make drugs to increase blood flow to the brain for stroke patients? I am wondering if using these medicines may resolve some of the foggyness issues.
